Pleasant, slightly funky, hippie type vibe. Excellent coffee and,of course, sandwiches.
The staff is fantastic. The food was delicious. We ate in the outside garden.

Just go in, have a coffee, and one of their delicious homemade cakes - relax for a minute, you deserve it. Really, you do.
Vegetarian options: Lemon Tahini dressing is habit forming you have been warned.

I was in town for my daughters wedding and prior to going to do the ceremony. We wanted something kind of light due to going to have dinner later and they heard good things about the place so wanted to check it out. There were four of us in total, my daughter, her husband and their best friend. They each got a half sandwich and I got a whole.
The restaurant was busy for the lunch rush, which at 1230 is to be expected. Not a problem whatsoever. They had a nice dessert case opposite of where you ordered that had a lot of great looking options of which i did not partake due to wedding cake in a while, but they did look great.
I enjoyed the eclectic and welcoming atmosphere of the place. Having family that is LGBTQ+, seeing how welcoming they are there was refreshing compared to the ultra conservative area i am from. The staff was so awesome and great and they made it worth it.
I generally judge sandwich places like this on their Reuben Sandwich if they have it as an option. it is the flavor of the corned been, the sauerkraut, cheese, dressing and bread. It was a decent tasting sandwich, was piled high with thin sliced corned beef, a generous amount of sauerkraut and cheese on marbled rye. I was a bit let down that the bread was not toasted at all and almost felt microwaved. to heat it up. The flavors of everything together was good do not get me wrong, but could have been better if toasted a bit. Everyone else's sandwiches did look great and were piled high with topping and condiments and they were all very happy.
All in all, next time I am in Tacoma, i will definitely eat here again and try one of the other options as well, and hopefully it is not over 90F and can try one of their soups.

Antique sandwich co stands out amungst many other bland sandwich shops. As someone who commutes from vashon I always look forward to sitting down at this place for a delicious poor boy or reuben and some coffee. Additionaly the customer service is excellent and ive had members of staff remember my name even after prolonged absenses.
Onto the food quality, its exceptionaly high you can tell immediately that the ingredients are good.
Furthermore there is a nice outdoor seating area that I recomend sitting at during sunny weather.
Parking: Recomend going down the rear alley for free parking

Delicious find! It was busy at 1:30 but we had no problem getting a table. Menu is tough to see when in line but not that bid a deal. If you order a sandwich, ask for lettuce tomato, etc. I thought it automatically came with those options but it didn't in my case.

We absolutely loved our meal here. My husband loves a good sardine sandwich and was so excited to see it on the menu.
The chocolate milkshake was one of the best I’ve had in a very very long time. I highly recommend it.

They have a very relaxing PNW/Tacoma vibe atmosphere, and I always get their avocado cheese sprout sandwich because it's so good I can't stop! :)
EDIT: I had moved to OR a few years ago, but recently made a trip back in July 2024. My favorite sandwich is still delicious as ever!!
Cute place for a sandwich and piece of pie!
