Some of the best food that I've had since moving to Tacoma. Only down side is that the price but that might just be that I'm still used to FL pricing. Otherwise there is nothing that you can get here that wouldn't be amazing to try.

Balcon Express Tacos used to be one of those hidden gems—where you could count on consistently flavorful tacos, generous portions, and a sense of pride in every bite. Unfortunately, that standard has noticeably slipped, and what once felt like an authentic, satisfying meal now feels rushed and forgettable.
The tacos, once packed with well-seasoned meats and vibrant toppings, now arrive lukewarm, underfilled, and often overcooked or dry. The carne asada, previously juicy and tender, was chewy and bland during my recent visit. Even the tortillas, which had a fresh, homemade quality, now taste store-bought and lack the same warmth and texture.
Presentation and service have also taken a hit. Orders arrive haphazardly packaged, and items are frequently missing or incorrect. The salsas—once a standout—seem watered down and lack the bold punch they used to deliver.
It’s disappointing to see a place that had such promise fall into inconsistency. Balcon Express still has the potential to turn things around, but for now, it’s hard to recommend it with the same enthusiasm as before.

Right on 6th Ave this restaurant is conveniently located with plenty of parking & great scenery for a local Tacoma feel.
The Putacos were so flavorful & Aguas Frescas were a perfect compliment completing the meal. Staff is friendly and hospitable & honestly made me feel at home.
Would highly recommend if visiting Tacoma or a Stop after Seattle!

The tacos were great! Self serve kiosk to order food was great but was missing some photos for the items. Nice big windows for people watching while you eat. Food came out quick. Get the aqua fresca!

One of my sons and I shared a meal experience and it surpassed any and all of my expectations. The vibe, food and service was superb. My son doesn't eat meat, or dairy products, and his veggies were fresh and well prepared. So you might say, they truly just acquired a couple more satisfied customers. Oh yeah, the restroom was also so clean. Much success to their business!♥️
