I've been by 5 times and they have only been open once. The hours online don't seem to be accurate

I'm always surprised more people don't know about this place. One block up from Seven Seas, Black Fleet Brewing has some seriously tasty brews! It's hard to find smoked beers, even harder to find a good one. Their Fire Ship Smoked Red is outstanding!! One of my favorite beers in Tacoma. Atmosphere? Friendly and inviting with plenty of seating. Food is good and they have some cool merchandise too. This is one of my best kept secrets, so I'm passing it along - go and have fun!

Finally! Some really good brews that aren't boring AF. Great brews and great staff! My favorite brewery around the Sound for sure!

The beers are excellent. The food is good too. It wasn't very busy when I went, it was a Sunday about 90 minutes before they close.

The staff was very friendly. I would highly recommend this place for great beers and food.

Great place, food hits the spot and the beer gets you there, nice mom and pop vibe. A gem in Tacoma. Get the beer flight to taste the varieties.

Not really busy for a Saturday, but the beer is great and so are the sliders.

Of all the breweries in hilltop it definitely has the best food.

Wow what a great place! The Captains burger was to die for and the beer was excellent. The house made sauces, homemade fries and atmosphere. Someone put some serious thought in the menu and design.

My wife and I loved it!

Closed. They are always closed. Every time I come down they are closed. I don’t understand how they can stay in business?

Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. I was in the mood for a great pub burger and fresh-cut fries, but I was sadly disappointed in the food. The fries tasted like they came from frozen, the bun on my burger was cold and the cheese wasn't totally melted. I had the Vengeance IPA which I enjoyed. The food needs a little work, but a great spot for a beer.

Burgers were good but oddly smaller than expected. Burger buns need to be toasted too, but otherwise, the flavor combos were nice. Beers were interesting as well. Probably worth a second try to see how the 1st impression holds up.

My main complaint was the food was terrible. I really wish this place the best and I hope they get their act together. But it looks like in terms of food, there are other complaints.I had the pub cheeseburger and ate very little of it.A couple of points. The roll was cold and somewhat stale. Most cooks set the roll on the grill for at least a couple of minutes. Not here. Completely unprepared.Flavor of burger, was minimum, with some spice in the pickles that was not stated on the menu. Greens were not the right type, not crunchy, more spring mix which normally does not go with a burger. Burnt crunchy cheese was a pleasant surprise. Fries were clearly deep-fried right out of a frozen bag.Only tried two of the beers, the Brewer was serving and working the orders. He was quite nice and pleasant, but the service was slow. Only one person. The cook/kitchen really needs to get their act together. The meat looked very much like a preformed, frozen patty. Really disappointed. One in our party parked behind the restaurant, and she felt unsafe. We escorted her back to her car at the end of the evening, which ended quite early for a Friday night. They can fix things.

Black Fleet is a fantastic local brewery, managed and staffed by a wonderful team. Be sure to visit or catch them at a local farmer’s market like Proctor.I held a 40th birthday celebration for around 45 guests on New Year’s Eve. Laura patiently helped us to organize the event and Kyle was present on the day to pour endless pints. The beer options are diverse, offering something for all - the pilsner is crisp and highly drinkable. The food was also excellent!Numerous friends and family commented on the quality and friendliness of the venue, and plan to return on their own.

Kid-friendliness: We had more than 10 kids in attendance for the party. The staff were patient and kind with all that entailed! Soda options are excellent too.
