This place is amazing! The baristas and staff are fantastic. I’ve been coming here for years, and they’ve always been consistent. We’re always greeted with a smile, and our conversations feel personal, not just like we’re just customers. I remember seeing one of the baristas greet and chat with a little kid by their first name—that kind of attention to detail shows how much they care. They’ve even had our drinks ready as we walked in on some days.

Overall, this place is amazing.

Drinks to try:
Latte
Hot Chocolate (it’s absolutely a must!)

I dont know what to say man. Ive worked in specialty/third wave coffee going on 7 years, and bluebeard has always been my favorite spot. The nitro draft latte has been my favorite coffee beverage period, and their espresso is always banging. But I went in today and was met with the most apathetic service and easily the most under extracted espresso in my partner’s cortado. Checking the other newest reviews seems to confirm all this which is the worst part.

We tipped $4 in cash before getting our coffee, and the pastries were great, but on the way out the barista who made out drinks pointed at my partner and I where the other baristas clearly glanced at us and were whispering, shaking their head. I have no idea what we could have possibly done. Weird vibe all around and im genuinely bummed about this. RIP Bluebeard.

Cacatoi if you ask me, baristas need to take a class in customer service

Baristas don’t know how to greet or what? Maybe some customer service training would help this coffee shop out. Standing for 3 minutes with multiple employees chatting amongst eachother and not even acknowledging the customer waiting to order or perhaps even ask a question about the menu. Why do I have to feel like I’m interrupting when I’m here yo buy coffee. And if you’re the owner don’t bother replying with whatever gaslighting excuse you can come up with this morning. Maybe stick to hiring actual baristas and not some mean girls you couldn’t stop hiring from your old school days

As someone who's worked at multiple cafes before I shouldn't be standing first in line and not get a hello from a single worker... I don't think I've been so disappointed and dissatisfied.. why am I searching for the microwave that's almost on the floor on the other side of the counter? You as a worker need to do BETTER and let customers know that. You look annoyed and that just makes no sense, find a different JOB. You stand there and look at me for a few minutes and not even say hello? That's just crazy, I'm truly so disappointed LOL wow.

And believe me I wouldn’t go out of my way to make 3 different reviews LOL. I was visiting with my sisters which have the same last name and did not have a great experience either. And on top of that I never leave reviews but I had to because it was just so bad. You assuming that is just so funny and embarrassing on your end, you could acknowledge that maybe greeting people is the way to go. I’ll gladly never visit again, tell your employees to say hi to customers.… goodbye

I came here for the first time and safe to say i am disappointed. No goodmorning, no hello… not a single acknowledgement. I am a customer, i’m paying for my coffee and pastry, i’m providing $$$ for this business, wouldn’t i deserve a bit of kindness?
The two girls did not deserve the tip i left them, wish i could take it back.
Don’t come here. There’s better and much nicer coffee shops in Tacoma.

I love this place for the atmosphere, the big windows make it bright and beautiful. Being able to do work with other people doing their own work is nice.
Coffee is just okay. Nothing special. Wish they had raspberry.
But the service is never good. I’ve been here a few times and don’t think I’ve ever had any of the baristas smile at me. They always seem more annoyed than anything. I get it, it’s a busy day. But I don’t think it’s fair to make me feel like I contributed to that when you chose to work in the service industry.
I will be avoiding Bluebeard from now on, especially considering the only reason I really ever come is to enjoy the space. I just don’t want to come study here without buying anything, and the coffee and dry pastries are usually a cause of my buyers remorse in this place.

Nice little coffee / pastry shop. Good area to work and hang out. Nice location to meet up with people as well. The croissant and the brioche were pretty good (they said they were stuffed but the filling was not really in it). Coffee was good too.

Honestly I think this place is overrated, there's plenty of other fantastic coffee shops in tacoma. I just don't think they're coffee tastes very good and it's overpriced.

I would also say that the service can be slow from time to time and it's just not a very inviting environment in my opinion. Overall, just don't think it's a good thing for your buck

Cute cafe. One of the best iced lattes I’ve ever had.

Visited Tacoma for the first time and I had an iced mocha (their summer special), with coconut and macadamia nut syrup. I like that the beans are roasted onsite and available for sale. The espresso they used was strong and the flavors together reminded me of a drink I had in Hawaii. Their berry scone was also very good and their customer service was superb!

The nitro cold brew was just okay. I was honestly more put off by the vibes. Definitely felt like the barista was more interested in her side conversation than in helping us, which is quite the opposite of other local coffee shop experiences. It doesn’t have that cozy or friendly coffee shop vibe. Considering how many excellent coffee options there are in the area, I don’t feel like I’d need to try this again.

I love coffee. It is my favorite thing in life. I love arriving in a new place and trying out the local shops. Unfortunately this place fell short and I did not even drink my cappuccino. It was terrible. My scone was awesome, the vibe was cool. I would go here for tea only.
