Came back to my drink from dancing to find white powdery substance in it. Arrived at 9:25 and told we wouldn’t sing til 12:10 and if you thought it was cause it was busy it wasn’t. I’ve never had a host demand a tip just to sing. That’s an experience here. After all that we had already tipped. Wished I hadn’t had waited my time here.

The bartender’s were amazing however the karaoke host on Friday ignored us for an hour and a half. We purchased drinks and tipped her. Wouldn’t recommend someone who’s in it to sing for herself and not let patrons who aren’t regularly there again. Could’ve tipped more. Won’t be back again. Why would I waist my money?

This place is an experience. Very interesting vibe inside, very friendly staff, and inexpensive beer. Would I eat here? No. I would not. Something about the fact that the place used to have monkeys inside really taints things for me. But I would love to return for a can of Rainier and some karaoke.

Bob’s is a total vibe for Karaoke, hosted by Gabe, Sam, and Colin! Not to mention the very down to earth and welcoming bar staff, including the incredible Sam (different Sam)!! Hang out for a few songs and a few drinks at the largest teapot building in the WORLD! Open since 1927, almost 100 years ago! It is a revered piece of Tacoma history, reflective of the “Gritty City.” Have fun! Go!!!

A nostalgic place to experience. Met friends because this place would not have been in my comfort zone experiencing alone but I will take friends during the day to share the experience. The burgers were outstanding. The sweet bar employees were efficient and friendly.

I've been coming here here for a long time. There is a new bartender, Sam, who is a complete jerk. Not only does she not serve people in line, as they come, she is obnoxious. I heard another patron complain to her about her poor service and she was immediately in their face and aggressive. I told the server I was mostly working with how awesome she was an commented that the other bartender was neglectful and rude. She immediately threatened to have me thrown out. I paid my tab and left my 20 dollar drink on the bar and left. I really hope management gets rid of this horrible person

This place's vibe is off the hook fantastic. Came in with a friend late afternoon sat at the bar. We're the only 2 people in here. Ordered beer and fries. Bartenders are going through what looks like a change of shift stuff, talking all good.
New bartender is behind bar, old bartender is sitting at the end of the bar. Both are talking to each other and on phones. Typical end of shift chatting- all good.
After about 20 min and half a beer later, fries come out of kitchen and placed literally in front of old bartender sitting at end of bar. They all sit there- both bartenders and fries.
I look at my friend as we look at both of them. Our beers are half gone... Are they really ignoring us while our food is getting cold while they type on their phones, chatting.....
I ask- "Excuse me are those our fries?" New bartender says "I have no idea I just got here"..... we're the ONLY ones in the bar..... Old bartender looks down from her phone and says- "oh yeah, that's theirs"......
DO YOUR JOBS. Make your boss money! If you would have given us ANY service we would have ordered another beer..... I do feel guilty though- I should have asked for my 20% tip back
May come back, which is a shame- building is so cool, might give it another try...... when on duty, servers need to get off their phones

I don’t see how you could walk into a weird giant coffee pot dive bar and not just automatically be having fun. Honestly I would probably give 5 stars to any oversized kitchen item shaped bar. Bob’s is surreal and charming, and if you are purposefully going to a coffee pot looking bar then you are probably a fun person already, so you’ll probably like it. It’s a Tacoma treasure! Also the tator tops were plentiful and delicious!
