Wonderful local neighborhood atmosphere. Bullwinkle Von Coffeehausen recommended for all locals & tourist alike.

The service is friendly and attentive, and it's an old-school down-to-earth bowling alley. The food kinda sucks, but go there for the bowling, and you'll have fun.

This place is like a blast from the past, something that's increasingly difficult to find. Loved it! Small, clean, friendly, and comfortable. We bowled, enjoyed a pizza and a pitcher of beer, appreciated the positive experience created by a really friendly team of employees, and just had a great time overall!

I appreciate the timed online bookings, it is a peaceful place to enjoy a beer, some food, and bowl!

First and foremost - the staff is so friendly and helpful! It's a Friday and it's pretty slammed but everyone we asked for help was willing and cheerful! It's a pretty standard bowling alley but the vibe is so fun! Didn't order food here but got some pitchers of beer and soda! Definitely come here to bowl - everyone in here cares about bowling and is respectful (no rowdiness unlike other alleys). This is my first time of many here!!

After reading the reviews, maybe this was just a fluke of an experience, but we didn’t have a great time. We made reservations (you pre-pay when making them) and we got there a few minutes early. We were the only customers at first and the gentleman working acted like we were inconveniencing him by being there. Once he told us our lane he walked away and we had to call him back for shoes. We got situated at our lane and I went to go get us some beer and water. It was $21 for a small pitcher (roughly 2.5 pints) and 2 generic small bottles of water. The beer was flat and wasn’t very good (Coors Light) and it tasted like their lines needed cleaning. The alleys looked clean and in good shape but the shoes were falling apart and the balls were in desperate need of being replaced. We also made our reservation from 5-6:30 because that’s when Glow Bowl was advertised. I’m from Wisconsin where bowling is a religion, so I grew up bowling all of the time so maybe my expectations were too high, but it took another customer complaining at about 5:45 for them to start Glow Bowling. An employee spent about 5 minutes yelling across the bowling alley to the front desk man asking him what to do. He just yelled back & never bothered getting up. Eventually a few black lights and discos balls were turned on along with some outdated music at such a low volume you couldn’t hear it over the bowling. Like I said, maybe my expectations are too high, but I know Glow Bowl to be bright fun lights, loud upbeat music, glow in the dark pins with prizes if you knock them all down. This was just pretty depressing. We wanted to support a local business but they seemed less than thrilled that any customers were there. We didn’t even stay our full 1.5 hours because we just weren’t having much fun. The employee did tell me, when I was getting beer, that summers are really slow, which made me wonder why they weren’t putting in some effort to make the six lanes of customers have an amazing experience. With bowling, drinks, snacks we spent about $100 for two people, so you’d think our business would be welcomed. Anyhow, we won’t be going back, which is a bummer bc we so wanted to love Chalet and join a league this fall. Hope everyone else has better experiences.

We had a great time bowling! Good beer and food options too. Staff was friendly even when things were busy. You need to book a reservation online before you go, and we have found that we often need to book a week in advance to get a lane. So plan ahead!

Horrible customer service. I just called to see how much it would be for an hour of bowling. Just to jog the guys memory.. 2:15 on this Thursday afternoon (for management). I was asking how much it would be for my 3 YO daughter, another 5 YO with 2 adults. I grew up here and Tower Lanes is slammed. It's hard to get in there. Probably because their customer service is better LOL THE GUY HUNG UP ON ME AS I WAS ASKING IF THEY HAS THE RAMP THING FOR THE KIDS. I called back 100Xs and he sent me to voice mail and the fax machine!! Guess they don't want anymore business. I just feel bad for the owners.

I am a Former Employee of the now Demolished Narrows plaza Bowl in University Place, And The owner of Chalet Helped out at Narrows Plaza A few times as He was a Co-owner of Narrows Plaza When I first began working there. I wanted to express to patrons of Tacoma's bowling alleys that your Patronage to Bowling alleys post Covid19 lockdown, and Presumably, pre, projected 2023 recession is what ultimately keeps Tacoma businesses In Operation. Narrows Plaza Was a 40 lane bowling alley, which Ultimatly had an amazing Business model, Amazing management, Fantastic Employees who all Enjoyed our jobs, However, The cost of running a 40 lane bowling alley after over a year of being closed, while still having to pay LOT rent, keep the Power on for security purposes, and keep unused systems updated, got expensive after a year, and when the economy finally reopened, Narrows Plaza had to start off a skeleton crew, and it took time to ReEstablish that it was open, Ultimately, even with all the best business practices possible in play, 2 years post covid19, The cost to pay bowling alley related expenses, eg. Individuak Lane repair, heat, lighting, nessecary computer system upgrades for IT security among other things exceeded the revenue generated by the returning customers, leagues, etc, and 2 years post covid19, Narrows Plaza, was given a Choice, Either be demolished to make way for appartments, and the Debts incurred from exceeding operating costs post pandemic would be forgiven in full by way of payment for the property value, and appartment complex, or the Bowling alley could continue to struggle to eek by with less and less appeal, as more and more customers went elsewhere, until it would have been forced to close for failure to operate properly and safely and the business would have been a total loss with no recompensation for closing in the future, at which point, it would have then stood empty for many years. Narrows Plaza Chose to sell the land their business stood on. Recompensated their financial losses, cleared their debts, and Although MY dream job is sorely missed, as a result of the Effects of the Covid19 pandemic, I know that currently, Chalet bowl, Still currently carries on the smaller, but still knowledgeable legacy, of What once was the 40 lane WSBA league and tournament Certified Bowling alley, known for many years as Narrows Plaza bowl. Also, A shoutout to Narrows plazas retired Former Mecanic "skip" who, to employees at Narrows Plaza before its demise the 1st rule of the front desk position unofficially was "fear skip, and fear him ever yelling at you in all honesty, skip was a breed of mechanic who despite a rather frightening sounding reputation, was full of knowledge, had stories, and if anyone was lucky, they'd get him to laugh and start telling stories. So,Chalet, may you live long,as the surviving sister alley, to Narrows Plaza bowl.*regards*
