This has some of the best cocktails, food and service I have ever enjoyed in Tacoma. I have never ordered anything here that I didn't love. They have a fun, varied menu so it almost seems like a different restaurant whenever we treat ourselves by going here. The service has always been on point, which is something that most places in Tacoma can't seem to get right.
We most recently went out for the family fried chicken dinner on a Sunday, and it really knocked our socks off. I have never had better fried chicken. Be sure to always order a cocktail when you come to Cook's Tavern because they are expert mixologists and they do not disappoint.
Edit for 2025: The only thing I wouldn't order at Cooks is the biscuits. I've had them a few times, and they have been tough and over mixed. Other than that, Cooks is a great choice.

I was just here for brunch, because I was craving a good egg benny, and I know they don't disappoint. Weekdays are easiest to get in for lunch or brunch food.

I totally feel like I am welcome here, and the staff is super cool.

The Kefta Benedict is definitely the star of the menu — amazing flavor with a hint of saffron. The Clean Up on Aisle ___ dish was also really good. Totally worth the money. Loved the ambiance and the friendly staff. I’ll definitely be back!

The wait for a table was about 15-20minutes for 3 people. Atmosphere was pleasant. They have some benches to sit on, alot of people were standing. Service was quick and pleasant. Delicious offerings. Not rushed. Prices were reasonable. I like this restaurant, I'll go back to it.

I got the Forester Omelette and it may be the best omelette I've ever had. The service was great as well.

Always gracious and the food is prepared perfectly - rich in flavor and quality. We especially enjoy the monthly nods to countries and particular cultural cuisines- a treat to sample the dishes of a culture, at this point in my life , i probably will not visit .

My husband, my friend, and I had a fantastic time. We lucked out with a minimal wait, but be prepared for a line out the door—this place is popular! I loved the Rasta Bowl, and we enjoyed mimosas with our meal.

Great staff. We forgot to pick up a hat and some leftovers, and our waitress brought them out to our car. Above and beyond service 😁!

Everything was delightful. Eggs Benedict with salad was perfect! We will be back! We heard you were adding several Moroccan dishes! Can’t wait. The experience was memorable.
