I visited on January 1st , I have been going to this place since I went to university of puget sound . Always a great time until now.
The game was on , and the jukebox was loud. We had a party of 3 watching the rose bowl.
The first server was fantastic and told us the cool drinks and everything . Shift change and an older lady completely ignored us . We asked for food and drinks multiple times only to be rebuffed . I first thought they were understaffed but by an hour into wanting your food, I saw a managerial type just tend bar and acting like maintainece was more important then 3 customers wanting food and drink . We were at the bar and this should be the heart of the restaurant service.
Horrible service and horrible management by will . I won’t be going again .
I do have influence and will be spreading the word

Only vegan option is an (overpriced) impossible burger. Talk about boring/lazy.
Vegetarian options: Veggie options are limited and boring, vegan options even more so.

Busy place on a Saturday night. Had a quick bite and some drinks before a show. Service was pleasant and quick. My chicken sandwich was good but I wish the fries had been a little more.... Fried. But, all in all, I'd go there again to try more on their menu.

Rented out the second floor for my sisters 30th birthday party. Everything was absolutely perfect. I organized everything with Will, and he was very responsive, helpful, kind, and spent so much time to help make sure everything was perfect. We were served by Sonya who was very attentive and extremely helpful. We made such a good decision to celebrate at Engine House 9.

The food was good and it had a great atmosphere.
Our server was polite and friendly, however a couple of groups that sat well after us received their food before us, and I had to flag down the waiter to get a status on our food (it wasn't terribly busy.)
I would go again if I'm ever in the area.

This is such a cool building with a lot of history. Staff is great, and the only complaints I have are probably because of how busy it was when I went. I've been twice in the past six months, and my experience was okay. It wasn't bad, and it wasn't great. I love the building and space but parking can be a challenge. Staff is very kind and hardworking, though both times I've been, it has been packed, which makes it hard for them to be attentive. It can also get pretty loud between the crowd and the music, so it's not the best place if you're trying to have a conversation or get overstimulated. Food was pretty typical for a pub. I had fish n chips - fish was soggy but chips were delicious. I'd go again with friends, but it's not my favorite place.

If you're looking for a great burger,you won't find it here,you won't even find a good burger.
Definitely not a fresh pattie,frozen pre-made pattie,for 17 bucks,huge waste of money.
Onion Ring Burger review:
Bun,dry,almost stale.
Hamburger patty,dry and flavorless.
No discernible sauce at all,and I took the whole burger apart. Didn't see any cheese either, plus they added tomatoes after I specified no tomato.
I live 2 blocks away and somehow the tots were cold, falling apart and soggy by the time I got home.
This place used to be great, not sure what happened because it's definitely not anymore.

This place is almost good. Quality beer selection, cool vibe. But every dish was missing something. The beer cheese with the pretzels was killer, but the pretzels themselves were forgettable. The pizza had killer crust and great cupped pepperoni, but almost no sauce and it had very little flavor. Seems like there are plenty of other places in the immediate area to go to.
Absolutely immaculate vibes - it's a great place, really cool interiors, the service is always great and friendly. There are absolutely bright spots on the menu, and they have fun cocktails, but overall the food is good not great. With that said, the experience is always a positive one.

Wow....such a historic firehouse to enjoy amazing craft brews and great food! E9 produces some of the best beers in the NW and are respected by all respectable craft industry icons such as Floodland, deGarde, and countless others. The Steelhead fish and chips, baked Italian, and meatloaf sandwich all paired excellent with the Tayberry from E9 and The Blackberry from deGarde! Get here!

Been giving E9 the benefit of the doubt for years but it's time to admit it's shell of the restaurant it was pre-covid. The menu has never recovered, and the food is just not good. Been going in for growler fills still, because the beer is good, but it was a busy night and the bartender was visibly frustrated with filling it and ended up giving it to me maybe 2/3s filled. Didn't notice until I got home or I would have said something. Last straw for me, charged me for over 20 bucks worth of beer, won't be going back for a long time.

Seldom to space, food, and hospitality coincide... Especially with this level of quality beer.
Go there and be happy in your decision. Simple.
