That might be the BEST Philly cheesesteak sandwich I’ve ever had. I actually ate two bites, walked away, and my husband stole it and ate it in a minute or two. He said he was trying really hard to feel even a little bad- but the sandwich was so good he was struggling to find any remorse. 🤣 My son housed a massive double patty chicken burger before we could even make the drive home. Overall amazing value for the money, seriously delicious food, and they’re always so kind and happy in there. Wish I had another Philly… Guess I’m going back soon!

Great tasting with lightly battered fish & shrimp with wrinkle fries. Excellent value priced, which is appreciated, so go and get right away for the best meal you will experience that doesn't break the bank, lol!!!

The Fish House is more than just a great place to eat — it’s a living piece of Tacoma history. This Black-owned, family-run gem has been serving the community for over 30 years, and it shows in every detail. On my recent visit, I had the pleasure of speaking with Nyaeesha, who is now leading the business with grace and pride, while training her son to carry on the legacy her father began. Her father, the founder, now focuses on distributing The First Call paper — another example of this family's dedication to community uplift.
But let’s talk food — because The Fish House doesn't just have heart, it has serious flavor. I had the clam strips, fried okra, and banana pudding (to go), and every bite was spot-on. The clams and okra were seasoned and fried to perfection — crisp, flavorful, and satisfying without being greasy. And that banana pudding? Not only delicious, but presented with a 5-point star of vanilla wafers on top. That level of care and presentation sums up the whole experience: thoughtful, welcoming, and beautifully done.
This place isn’t just about mission — though that matters too — it’s about excellence. Can’t wait to return!
