I have been a fan of Forbidden City since moving to Puyallup in 1974. Though it has undergone location changes over the years, the quality of the food has been consistent and the family has always strived to deliver the best dining experience to their customers.
I finally visited their new location in Tacoma today. Overall, the food was wonderful and the only negative was the amount of tamarind in the gravy for the almond fried chicken and the egg foo young. It was a bit overpowering.
This will not discourage me from returning, as the rest of the food was very satisfying.

We got there and the guy settled us got upset because we didn't want to set at a table. He had to clean a booth. So instead of going to get us he went to clean another too. Then told us it needed to dry first. First strike. Food didn't have any favor. And in the end no cookies. Never going back

Enjoyed my birthday dinner at the Forbidden City Restaurant on Pacific Ave. in Tacoma. Great, friendly and attentive service, clean and welcoming dining area, very roomy and inviting atmosphere. The food was very good, served hot and had large portions at a reasonable price. Will come there again.
Wheelchair accessibility: Although we didn’t need wheelchair accessible, the entrance and dining area was very acceptable for such needs.
