We weren't clear on whether we needed to make reservations to just stop in for a drink, and the website wasn't obvious except to say THESE RESERVATIONS ARE FOR 90 MINUTES (ie. too much for just having a cocktail). There was no signage to the effect of "no walk-ins," but that's essentially what we encountered. We decided to check it out and were treated really poorly for just asking if a reservation was required to sit at the bar. There were fewer than half of the tables and barstools filled when we stopped in, and the door staff rolled their eyes and suggested we stop by in 3.5 hours to "maybe have some availability" at the bar. Then as we were leaving, she called out, "Appreciate you!" condescendingly. Enough things in life are hard. Stopping somewhere to have a drink shouldn't be.

Seattle restaurants: eat your heart out. The drinks, food, and atmosphere here are sublime and unique. Recommend the roasted potatoes, burrata with roasted strawberries and basil, and the niçoise salad. The mode of entry is pretty cool, too.
So far as I can tell, you have to make reservations. And the entry is unmarked. Once you enter the hallway, just pick up the vintage phone at the end.
Their dedication to not using plastic is pretty clear: the straws are all metal, all the condiments come in stainless steel containers, and there's really no plastic in sight (except the plants, maybe 😀).
The only thing I would add is that we've had the burrata and roasted strawberries twice: the first time, the strawberries were really roasted in the basil flavor came through; the second time, the strawberries seemed less than cooked and there was hardly any basil.

Great drinks and fantastic service, I’ll definitely go back. Food was really good as well, although we went late Saturday evening so they were unfortunately out of a lot of things.

This local fav bar & restaurant has moved next door and become a speakeasy. Room 428 is so intimate and cute. Amazing decor and even better cocktails. Prepare to have a night you’ll thoroughly enjoy and won’t remember the next morning. Delicious & potent, like a cocktail should be

In case you haven't been in a while, Gilman House has a new location right next door! It's a little hidden but it's there :)
There's not as many food options as before but the cocktails are top notch and the food they do have is excellent as well! And the portion sizes were appropriate for the price. We were worried it would all be small bites but went home satisfied and with leftovers.
Smaller space now but outstanding atmosphere. It's gained more creepy haunted hotel vibes in the new location and now feels more closely related to Devil's Reef (their sister location, which is also with a stop).
Overall a very cool place for a drink and a bite.

Awesome place! Such a cool atmosphere and the drinks were amazing! We went late after a concert at the temple theater so we didn’t try any of the food but the items offered on the menu sounded delicious. Will definitely be back!

Lovely atmosphere and unique food, excellent drink selections
Absolutely my favorite restaurant with the best vibes! I'm a vegetarian and there are SO MANY ACCOMMODATIONS FOR MY DIET and the flavors are out of this world! The Impossible Shepherd's pie is so filling and flavorful, the cocktails are unique and delicious, the service is impeccable and their desserts are to die for! Get the Shortcake, their biscuits are OUT OF THIS WORLD buttery delights!! Plus the atmosphere is so cozy with the fluffy blankets, couches, sparkling chandeliers and live plants make it OH SO cozy! Jacob was our server tonight and he was outstanding!!
