So..first off..stupid expensive, steak was done right but only warm, the baked potato was cold with cold butter in it and the broccolini was cold also and the dessert was barely warm. Everything tasted fine, but..when I say stupid expensive to have a cold meal we sent back, my wife and I split dinner and a dip and a dessert with tip still 150$.. come on, really? We will never be back.

The Mac and Cheese was like soup , horrible . Rockfish tacos needed some spice. My team ordered the right items not me ... the waitress did take the Mac and cheese off the bill so that was a plus. The captains platter was a hit! I was very disappointed.
We love this restaurant and always make sure to come here when we are in Tacoma. We live in Redmond so we can't go as often as we would like to. We had both clams and mussels, they were excellent. The restaurant staff are friendly and always make us feel welcome.
We were seated at a window table and within a minute were provided with ice water drinks. We perused the menu and decided our choices. The waitress was very efficient and answered all our questions. She took our orders and delivered the starters within about 5-7 minutes. The chowder was very good, the dinner salad was quite large, and good, and the calamari strips were very moist. Excellent. Our entrees arrived timely. The steelhead was excellent and very moist. The fish & chips were very good. The salmon was slightly overcooked but the lemon sauce was very tasty and helped out the slightly dry salmon. We finished with burnt cream and chocolate mousse for dessert. Very tasty. This visit was much better than the last time we visited Harbor Lights, many years ago. We will return.
There were 5 of us and we went for the 3 course sunset special last night (Jan 2026). First course: I had the nectar clam chowder which I found too salty but the other 2 at the table found it fine. My mom liked the calimari and the 5th person had garden salad which was fresh and good. Second course: 3 of us had the salmon, 1 had the rockfish, and 1 had prawns. The salmon and rockfish were good, but the prawns were not. Some of the prawns had texture like freezer burn and something was a little off on the taste but we couldn't put our finger on it. Nobody got sick. All entrees had broccolini and it was really undercooked, making it hard to cut into. Dessert course: The burnt cream was good, the chocolate mousse was good at the mousse layer but the cakey part at the bottom was crumbly and dry. The raspberry sorbet was the best. Service: Our waitress was competent (all orders were correct) but didn't smile once and didn't put any effort into making us feel welcome. Overall: I will not go back. There are better options in town.
The salmon was overcooked as well as the calamari was extremely oily. The mahi mahi and shrimp was cooked well. Server was rude and did not come to the table often enough.
Food was late, never received appetizer, bathroom was dirty, table dirty no table cloth, black bits in both water glasses. Unfortunately the restaurant has gone downhill since being bought by Anthony's. It's a real shame.
The restaurant was packed understandable due to New Year's Eve. As soon as we checked in we got seated. Our table was next to glass window overlooking the water, which was amazing. Food are excellent. Our server was excellent. Overall experience was amazing.

A view restaurant with good food! Charming staff. Food is not fancy but it's good. Fantastic views.
Absolute Gem!
We had the best experience at Harbor Lights in Tacoma! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and had that perfect waterfront charm. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home.
Now the food… WOW. It truly knocked our socks off. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. You can tell they take real pride in their seafood — each bite tasted like quality and care. The portions were generous, the presentation was beautiful, and everything came out piping hot.
The view of the water added the perfect touch to an already outstanding meal. It’s rare to find a place that nails great service, amazing food, and a beautiful environment all at once, but Harbor Lights does exactly that.
We left so happy and beyond impressed. If you're anywhere near Tacoma and love seafood, do yourself a favor and go to Harbor Lights. We will absolutely be back!
The best part…. The crab comes cracked and ready to eat!

Wonderful seafood dishes. Our two favorites; Wild Alaska Halibut Tempura & Chips and their very special Harbor Lights' Nectar Clam Chowder.
