Tacoma, Dec. 2025. The food items are good, especially the clam chowder. The only issue I have is with the prices. Considering the portion sizes and quality they are too high. Casual fast food dining at high end restaurant prices.

Shift lead acknowledged us upon entering. Helped us order and promptly brought our order out. Food was fresh, hot and good taste. Dining room was clean and same lady who greeted us was just as hospitable with other diners. This tore keeps with the reputation

Long time Ivar’s James Center patron. Went through the drive through this evening around 630 PM. Ordered two fish sandwiches, salmon platter and chowder. Received no receipt in bag. Drove 8 minutes to get home. All food was lukewarm, including sandwich, salmon and chowder. Fries weren’t hot at all. Limp and greasy. If I were the PC Health Department, I’d pay a random visit with a thermometer. I really love Ivar’s James Center, but I will think twice about going again. Sadly, it appears quality and service isn’t what it has been for so many years. Please do better or risk losing business. Not good when Ivar’s is planning to open in Gig Harbor.

I went in and ordered pick up. Waited 10 minutes. Fries were cold, had been sitting, fish was lukewarm. Terrible coleslaw...was it a week old? $36 and none of it was good. Fries not edible they were so dry, hard and cold. 3 Fish pieces were enough to feed a child. Shame on them.

A great and friendly eating experience. The staff here are friendly and sweet, the atmosphere and decor was nice and classic, the food tasted amazing. I'm only taking a star away for the price to size ratio. I got my wife a 5 piece Cajun fish and chips and myself the 2 pc fish and shrimp taco. The total came out to about 30$. The fish and chips are tiny. They are all delicious, but so tiny. I feel it's a bit too expensive for the amount of food we got.
