I was visiting the university because I knew several students that attended there. I walked into Kelley Cafe back in 1998. I was interrogated by a cute blonde for several mintues. It made me feel not welcomed to eat there because of my skin color. I decided to leave and not order anything. The whole experience made me change my mind about attending this university, which is mostly White. Kelley Cafe is a racist establishment with racist student employees meant for only White people. People of color are not welcomed as in most places in Washington, especially the small towns. Seattle seems to be more tolerant.

This a republican cafe, there are a bunch of we hate democrat items. Posters, toys, signs bashing Democrats. So as I said democrats NOT welcome.

Menu offers large and small portions. Small was too much for me, lol. Food was great, service was great, especially the cook/server. No background music, open seating community style not too large, so not noisy. Outdoor seating! Dirty, but some new remodeling looked apparent. Don't expect too much from the building, just enjoy the food and the price. I know now to ask for my English muffin "dry". The Blue pancake was awesome! All seemed fresh home cooked.

Food has always been pretty good. I haven’t been in years because every time I walk in it smells like it’s never had a good scrubbing. The floors are nasty, the tables are sticky 🤢. Too much clutter.

This is the greatest diner around. Great food. They will fix it exactly how you want it, make any substitutions or changes. Even will cook something else if they have those items. They use only fresh eggs they crack and not egg batter out of a jar, in other words not already loaded with sodium. Special holiday dinners and homemade pies. You need to give them a try.

Not what it used to be. Used to be a lot better. This used to be my favorite breakfast spot in Pierce County. But as time went on the quality suffered.

At first glance, you may want to run! The dining area has mismatched chairs and tables and is not super clean looking. The first time I went with a friend and my 16 yr old daughter. There was a man there that seemed to be well known and a regular. I was not pleased with the language he and a couple other of the "regulars" were using. I don't prefer to use profanity around my children and in a restaurant, I would think people would be more respectful when kids (or women/ladies) are in the room. It (to my knowledge) is not a stag house. The second visit last month was a little better, however, I was a little turned off when I saw someone come out from the kitchen with a tray full of clean utensils and the person placed them in a utensil bin handling the parts of the forks and spoons people eat from with bare hands. I always was taught to do this at the sink directly after washing and with clean hands or gloves if not in the kitchen. AND to never handle any part of the utensil other than the handles. I have no idea if her hands were clean or not, but that isn't how I want to see someone handling something I am going to be using to put food into my mouth with. The staff is very friendly and quick. Always very nice and helpful. The food is delicious!!! Now they just need to make the place look as appealing as it tastes. :) I will go again for sure either way.
