Went last night with two of my girlfriends. The restaurant has a nice vibe overall, but there were a few downsides. Service was a bit slow even though there were only a handful of tables occupied. The menu was pretty limited, and the portions felt small for the price point. Unfortunately, they were out of margaritas and didn’t have any mocktail options available either, which was disappointing. The bar area is also very small — basically just a tiny corner.
Overall, I’d rate it a 7/10. Not bad, but there’s definitely room for improvement.

Tried La Isabella and WOW, absolutely loved it.
I ordered the Taco De Asada and it was everything you hope for in a street taco: fresh, simple, and packed with flavor. The carne asada was incredibly tender and perfectly seasoned, and the onions and cilantro were balanced just right so every bite tasted clean and authentic.
The atmosphere made it even better: dark, cozy, and glowing with beautiful lights that make you want to stay awhile. And the staff? Genuinely warm and welcoming.
You can tell this is a place that cares about the food and the experience. I’ll definitely be back.

Staff was very kind and accommodating good banter!
We stopped in for happy hour appetizer specials ,just for a small snack
Got the refried beans and they were so flavorful and the salsas they came with were very well made ! Tostadas crispy and light cheese on top of beans was delicious! Definitely recommend it was about 5.99 during happy hour for that
We got an horchata which was 7.50 so kinda steep price point it was very very sweet but also flavorful we added a bit of water to it and it balanced out...
The coffee was a cafechata I believe and it was also very very sweet but again had great flavor I suggest when making this coffee beverage halving the horchata addition in order to balance out the sweetness over all still very enjoyable!
We will be back and As for all other foods I've only heard all good so excited to come back!

This place doesn’t get the crowds or views as it should for the quality of their food. It was absolutely delicious. I got the bistec with potatoes, everything was so well seasoned and balanced. Having the homemade tortillas put the extra chef’s kiss on the meal. I think their downfall on not having many customers (at least when I was there) is their location. Google maps takes you to the backside of the restaurant, and then when you go to the front side it’s not well marked from the street. But the indoor atmosphere and decor are just lovely.

Amazing food, the quesabirria was absolutely phenomenal, and the staff was so helpful and kind! Entrance is on Commerce even though Google Maps will take you to Broadway.

On vacation in Tacoma and needed lunch. Stopped into La Isabella based on its convenient location to where we were. Looked unappealing from the outside, but you step into a different world. The food was incredible. Lunch special included 3 street tacos, rice & beans and a drink. The tacos were a generous size, the beans were incredible and the pineapple mint drink was fabulous too. If I remember correctly all that was only $12! Best value meal I've had in a long while, and best tasting Mexican food I've eaten in memory.

Okay…the food and drinks are delicious. I mean delicious.
But the vibes in the restaurant are off and it smells a bit like a public bathroom. It’s like sitting at a marriott breakfast space but with cooler lamps.
The menu wasn’t very clear about the number of tacos you get which meant we ended up with 6 more tacos than planned lol. In the end that’s fine cause tacos but…ya know.

Not your typical Mexican restaurant. Very authentic and delicious dishes and helpful staff. This will be my first choice for Mexican food in Tacoma.

This was hands down the best Mexican food I’ve had in the Tacoma/Seattle area. I’m from LA and have been looking for a great place to eat Mexican food. So glad I found this place. The tacos el pastor were amazing, chips and Guac incredible and the drinks were unique and delicious.
Look... This place should be packed every night... The attention to detail in the room alone is worthy... I get it.. Commmerce street... Downtown... I owned a business for 14 years next door to this place and had more trouble in Proctor than I ever had downtown...the food is beyond compare in Tacoma...service is sincere... SINCERE... cmon Tacoma wake up or we won't have places like this... I know I gave it 5 stars for all categories which is a flag but honestly it deserves Six... Such nice people and real cooking...tobin
