On vacation in Tacoma and needed lunch. Stopped into La Isabella based on its convenient location to where we were. Looked unappealing from the outside, but you step into a different world. The food was incredible. Lunch special included 3 street tacos, rice & beans and a drink. The tacos were a generous size, the beans were incredible and the pineapple mint drink was fabulous too. If I remember correctly all that was only $12! Best value meal I've had in a long while, and best tasting Mexican food I've eaten in memory.

Okay…the food and drinks are delicious. I mean delicious.
But the vibes in the restaurant are off and it smells a bit like a public bathroom. It’s like sitting at a marriott breakfast space but with cooler lamps.
The menu wasn’t very clear about the number of tacos you get which meant we ended up with 6 more tacos than planned lol. In the end that’s fine cause tacos but…ya know.

This was hands down the best Mexican food I’ve had in the Tacoma/Seattle area. I’m from LA and have been looking for a great place to eat Mexican food. So glad I found this place. The tacos el pastor were amazing, chips and Guac incredible and the drinks were unique and delicious.

Look... This place should be packed every night... The attention to detail in the room alone is worthy... I get it.. Commmerce street... Downtown... I owned a business for 14 years next door to this place and had more trouble in Proctor than I ever had downtown...the food is beyond compare in Tacoma...service is sincere... SINCERE... cmon Tacoma wake up or we won't have places like this... I know I gave it 5 stars for all categories which is a flag but honestly it deserves Six... Such nice people and real cooking...tobin

Tacos are way too greasy! The presentation and flavor of the food were excellent, just way too much oil on the tortillas and meat making, them uneatable.

Visiting from out of state with a large family. We were sat quickly and each person was over the moon with their meals. The BEST birria and burritos. Guac was fresh and delicious. Cannot recommend enough.
Maybe it’s better to sit down and eat at the restaurant but I do not recommend take out here. My “veggie” quesadilla only had cheese it in…very misleading. Portions were very small and expensive.

Least oily and most well proportioned tacos I’ve had in Tacoma! Nice to see they are grassfed as well! The only small knock is that the onions were a little overkill.
