Dined here for lunch- hostess said they do not take reservations from Open Table even though I was able to book through the Open Table app. If you want bread it's $4. I ordered the lobster bisque which was very salty and the Connecticut Lobster roll which was very rich and sat very heavy on my stomach. Prices are expensive for what you get but view is phenomenal. I won't ever return

My husband and I had a wonderful anniversary meal. The Lobster Shop is our favorite place to enjoy a nice meal and water view.

We enjoyed a delightful dinner with delicious food and's recent service by Leah. Leah went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Lobster Shop is our go to place on the Ruston waterfront and always a must for our anniversary.

This restaurant has been around for a long time on the Tacoma Waterfront and we finally made it in for dinner. I was very satisfied with the filet and lobster tail combo but my wife's lobster risotto was not that great. The ambience was fantastic and the server was terrific! We would definitely come back but will stick to the basics of surf & turf. This was a great place to celebrate our anniversary. They knew it was our anniversary and went out of their way to acknowledge that. Great place overall, just stay away from the lobster risotto (this may just be us) but all the other food was made to perfection! Bon appetit :)

Lunch was great. Their lunch combos are awesome - $26 for sandwich and soup. We had the Connecticut lobster roll and lobster bisque + the Connecticut lobster roll and clam chowder with a side of shoe string fries. The sandwiches were loaded with lobster and both soups were amazing and flavorful. Cameron our waiter was great. He was personable, professional and attentive.

Paid to get subpar treatment and to eat mediocre food.

Comparing this to Tom's Lighthouse in San Diego. It's night and day for the same price point. You spend more here and get far less than at other premium locations.

I did not make any complaints throughout our meal there since I didn't want to risk our food getting spat on, but I couldn't wait to write this review asap after the whole affair was done.

Went here with 7 people for an anniversary.

From the drive up to the restaurant, the air alone reeked of stench. That's not their fault, but maybe I should have recognized that as a red flag already.

Came in to a host who avoided eye contact when I came to state our reservation. She clearly looked at someone else while having a full blown conversation replying to me. It was not a glance. It was a full conversation with me while having her head turned and making direct eye contact with someone else. That's the first time that has happened to me.

Seating location was decent. At least they didn't seat us next to the toilets or in a far off corner.

The waitress saw us at a reasonable time, but it seems like a party of 7 was too much for her as she kept forgetting who ordered what.

I also had to request for another staff member to bring me a plate, utensils, and some water as I was the only one who did not have any even though I was seating next to the head of the table. Attention to detail isn't this restaurant's strong suit.

Food was alright. Compared to other high end restaurants, the quality here was nothing really memorable. Disappointing when price taken into account.

Finally, when we asked for the kid's takeout boxes, after she packed the food, she laid it down on the floor. That's the first time I've experienced that. Either she lays down her food on the floor or she thinks we lay our food down on the floor?

You're just paying for the decor and the view. However, we came at night and didn't even really get that.

They're also lying about the auto gratuity being removed. There's an auto gratuity of 20%. Perhaps that could be due to the party size, but the website didn't specify that. Maybe they make it mandatory because they know their service quality matches the stench surrounding this place.

Anyways, go somewhere else to get better treatment and food. I did not notice outright racism, but the experience was so poor nonetheless. I don't even know if the free cremebrulet was worth this night. $750 for the whole meal so around $100 each person.

What a wasted night.

The food was so good and fresh. Try the crab cakes the best and the clam chowder.

We went here for a work function and the service was soooooo slow. We got there at 7:30pm and finally got served our meals at 10:00pm.
The food was ok, but nothing special. I had the Caesar salad with capers, which was very interesting. The capers were dried and way too salty. I love capers, but these were not very good, and there were a ton on the salad. It was very bland. I feel fresh capers would have been better on the salad.
I also had the maple glazed halibut. It sounded way better then it was. It was dry, and there was no visible glaze on it.
The drinks, however, were delicious. I highly recommend the Golden Hour.
I do not think I will return again. It is way too expensive for what you actually get, and there are cheaper places that have way better food and faster service.

I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday dinner, and it turned out to be a lovely experience overall. The ambiance was warm and charming, especially comforting on a gloomy, rainy evening. It felt cozy and inviting the moment we walked in.

Every dish we tried was beautifully presented and delicious. The flavors were thoughtful, and the seafood in particular was cooked perfectly. I couldn’t stop thinking about the lobster risotto and scallop. My other dining companions also got shrimp scampi and rockfish which they enjoyed.

The only miss for all four of us was the lobster bisque, which unfortunately leaned a bit too salty for our taste. Aside from that, everything else exceeded expectations.

A special shoutout to our server, Scott E. He was impeccable. Attentive without being intrusive, incredibly professional, and genuinely thoughtful throughout the night. His service truly elevated the experience and made the dinner feel enjoyable.

I’d absolutely return and would happily recommend this place for a special occasion!
