I luckily found Montamara kitchen to cater my seminar. They did fabulous Box lunches at a very reasonable price. They delivered it promptly and everybody was happy with their sandwiches I would definitely recommend them and I will definitely use them again for future events in Tacoma. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

Visit for our weekend brunch spot, space is not big but they seated 4 of us very quickly. Food was delicious, staff was friendly. Found this place on Eater and would go again, it was that good. I got the verde Chile chilaquiles for reference, almost forgot to take a picture because I was devouring it.

The Chiliquiles are what to get. Menu does vary. Food quality is good. Place is rather small, and parking can be difficult.

Unique place, great food, good service. Plan on waiting! Well worth it though. Pulled pork is out of this world. Definitely get get it!

Went here while in town to see family, had to wait about 25 minutes which was totally acceptable due to the time of day. The only hard part was seeing the food coming to the tables and how good it looked, I couldn't wait! But once we got inside it was really cozy and laid back. Super friendly service, great menu options, and delicious food and coffee is what gives this place a solid 5 stars. I got the chilaquiles and a cinnamon roll, both done perfectly and I left very full and very happy.

I've been here a few times before, but today I brought my daughter as our "last breakfast" before school starts. In between chews you can hear her oooing and awing. "Mom, do they really make this all themselves. Its Amazing." Its great when you love a place and your 7 year old does as well.

This was my first time dinning here, but let me tell you the food was great! My daughter ate there with me as well. The pulled pork eggs Benedict is delicious!!

Cute little hole in the wall eatery, good food but small menu, 2020 prices. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Hopefully they will expand menu after some time under their belt. Still giving 5 stars.

9-29-2019 Still one of my fav places to visit for some good food. Although arriving 50mins before closing I felt the food wasn't as good as it is normally. Pesto was nonexistent from my sandwich, potato's were super dry as if they had been sitting under a heat lamp all day, the crab cake was soggy and the eggs were over poached. All that to say my sandwich was still ok and the eggs Benedict were still editable but it's just not the quality that we have come to expect.

We were visiting from out of town and wanted to go support a small local place. This was fantastic. Super cute, friendly staff and delicious fresh food. Will be going back next time we're in town!

A hidden gem in the heart of Tacoma by the waterfront. Free street parking is easy to find right next to the establishment. Montamara is a relatively smaller restaurant, I would estimate around 10 tables so make sure to get their early around when they open or avoid the brunch rush. I got the Chilaquiles. I asked the server and she recommended this. She said it's a house staple. It you're hesitant on what to order, I hope my photo persuades you otherwise :)

Exceptional all around: food quality, portions, service, decor. It was a tiny bit too loud for us -and about 20-minute wIt for a table for for-but we get that it is a really busy spot on a Saturday morning. Highly recommend the Southwest Salad & cup of black bean soup combo. I got my salad minus the chicken and ranch dressing to make it vegan- wonderful meal!! Teen loved the nachos. Other guests had Eggs Benedict and a BLT- also loved those meals. Go here. It's a perfect restaurant!

We really enjoyed our meal. Excellent service. Bit of a wait for a table, but totally worth it. Smaller space, pretty loud- hard to hear each other talk at times. Worth a visit for sure.

When it comes to Tacoma, there is a large variety of food experiences that can only work in so many combination. Sadly some food joints fall hard on their faces. (Kinda like the time Samantha broke up with me and I just ran the other way and fell on my face. But what was weird was that it look like I was crying but I wasnt... o.o) but alas this is a champion that holds a place in my heart. (Points 3 inches up and 2 cm to the right of my heart. [Also, I'm renting the the top corner of my heart for a decent price. DM for details. Lol]) But let's make this review! OmO yum! *roars like he only had 3 hours of asleep.* Atmosphere: Walking in, you get a kiss to the nose with an amazing aroma (and I'm not speaking of the Tacoma aroma.) that has been created by the beautiful kitchen staff. (YOU ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL, for making a delicious aroma!! [Also did you know that montamara means "where mountains meets sea" dont get too impressed. O.O I googled that.]) The whole environment feels like a like a whimsical Paul Bunyan environment. (Which if you think about it, Paul Bunyan was the original OG [I heard of from a 6 year old kid explaining his main toy a year ago, so now I use it? That's without question.] Hipster guy.) With lighting being dim and small sources of light bulbs for cosmetic reasons around the kitchen, that really put everything together. Theres a framework? (Cuz it looks like a piece of floorboard stuck to the wall, but hey! When I put a piece of my old musty appartment carpet I called it art too. So I may respect this to what it is.) The space between the tables is a little bit cramped but doesnt steal from the experience. Customer service: I was amazed at how amazingly amazing they were to their amazing customers. (O.O what if that was that only adjective I knew? That be pretty amazing. Lol.) But hot diggity dog! They were attentive and responsive to everything you would ask for. It was like seeing a beehive work in full function and you were just there admire the form that everything was put together with such finesse. (Plus, you got shrinked that shrine to hide your body from testifying to a murder you saw, so the evil guy could get away Scott free! [Then again who's Scott? I bet hes fast.]) Food: Was a perfect blend of breakfast food and somewhat weird to say but felt healthy? ._. (I felt, I wasnt eating a bowl of hot cheetos with 4 month old milk and syrup that hasn't pass FDA regulations.) Everything felt fresh and welcoming. (Like old lady Marie down the street that gives high fives as goodbyes, that welcoming!. [God bless that old lady o.o]) The food is by far amazing and those waffles have me sweating when I'm working out. (Just because I find out I sweat more when I'm thinking about food. [Now that's dedication! And gross.]) I sometimes like to look at the moon and wonder if those waffles are looking out montamara and looking at the same moon and that my stomach will ever meet such a kind delicious food. (Whoa, I blacked out there... uhh *cough* food is good here.) With a warm cup off coffee and mimosas to give Mohamad Ali a run for his money at the ring back in his day. Conclusion: If you're like about 93% and Jeff that DM that he goes straight to just my conclusions love breakfast food?!?! ._. Come here. Its warm, small (but welcoming! Ps.. come a bit early. It gets packed due to how people can smell awesome from a mile away.), with amazing customer service that makes any other restaurant envy (like my poodle finding out that he'll never get extended functioning fingers like me.) And a great variety of breakfast dishes. (That make Dennys menu sound like a desperate 8th grade girl trying to impress Zack the quarterback goalie of the basketball team. [Idk sports. Lol) So swing on by, cuz past that Tacoma aroma, it's much greener on the other side.
