Bartender “J”s service was above and beyond despite my friend and I arriving during the Friday night crush. Food and drinks were great and reasonably priced as usual.

Service is always good here—fast, polite, casual, friendly—and food is always pretty good, too. The menu is limited, but creative. I’ve tried about half of the offerings & have rarely been disappointed. A recent exception was the breakfast burrito. It wasn’t nearly “breakfast-y” enough. It was supposed to have eggs and potatoes—I couldn’t find either. It would be nice to have a few more salsa options. The sauces that come with the tacos are good, but sometimes rather dry.

Just stopped in tonight for the first time. Taco's were amazing. Blake provided great service. So glad this place is literally one block away from our new apartment. I can see us stopping in fairly regularly.

We had our simple, little wedding reception here in the upstairs area. I cannot express how amazing this place is for food and atmosphere. The food is absolutely delicious, and the portions are amazing. I want to make a special shoutout to Rachel on the staff. She was the one that helped coordinate and organize everything for our party. She is extremely helpful professional and friendly. She made the whole experience absolutely painless and fluid. I can’t express how much she helps with everything. All the other staff is just as friendly and helpful, but she deserved a special shoutout for all the work she did. Made our wedding day amazing and unforgettable. We will definitely be regulars from now on. Rachel deserves a raise or bonus or something. She definitely deserves it.

My husband and I have a limited diet, but we love getting the two kinds of vegan tacos and chips and guac and there's plenty of food for our friends to enjoy what they want as well.

Honestly I was shocked. I had better food at Tacoma General.
For starters, we ordered guac, salsa and chips. The salsa tasted like “spicy” water, it had no flavor and had to be drained in order to be “enjoyed”. I had to add salt, Tapatio and Chiluba. The guac was bland, so I decided to add some salt and ask for limes and pepper. When requesting pepper, I was told there was NO PEPPER available. The restaurant had no pepper, which was confirmed by the lack of flavor on the salsa… The lime was harvested from the hills of Mexico because it took a long time to come to the table. We ended up eating the chips based on principle of paying $9 for it.
The only safe bet was the chips. And ambiance was good.
After that experience, we didn’t venture into trying anything else. I ended up worrying their carne asada and how they season their meat with no pepper.
Would not recommend and would not send my worst enemy there.
Service was good. The food was pretty bad and expensive. It didn't taste good nor fresh. I would not eat there again.

We LOVE Red Star!!! Creative, mouthwatering tacos, and their drinks are UNMATCHED. I cannot recommend this place enough. ESPECIALLY if you're lucky enough to be seated in Miranda's section- she takes excellent care of the table and makes you feel like a bestie. 10/10!!!

Great food! My sister is celiac and it was great having so many gluten free options for her. I especially loved the margs and queso. Sometimes frozen margs can be very syrupy or melt super quickly, but these were perfect.
