Get the stoner SOS and some boozy horchata and just enjoy being alive. Definitely one of my favorite local places.

Quick and reliable service. The biscuit did not disappoint, the avocado toast was a lovely blend of savory and acidic, but could have used an additional layer of sweet or spicy. The hashbrowns were an unexpected favorite!

I loved the vibe here reminds me of my grandma's house, and her home cooking. The food was so bomb I ordered the Maple biscuit with sausage and egg they call it the Sizzurup! Highly recommend it, cooked perfectly I wanted seconds lol. 😋 they had music playing which was my kind of vibe. The line wasn't too long, and you can order ahead if you would like, They have also have to go options. Most definitely coming back with friends and family!

This spot is a whole vibe. The food was delicious. I had the avo toast and a horchata cold brew. It will be a staple every time I visit Tacoma.

This place is awesome! The biscuits are absolutely amazing. We love that they have a rotating menu so we can get something different every time. Cool, funky 70s type vibe atmosphere (not kid friendly) and we always dine-in. Worth the long wait in line for this food. Service is always on point.

Incredible hole in the wall with amazing biscuits and cheesecake. Open 8/9-2 or until they sellout which they do almost daily! Check out their IG it's shows their personalities, food and often how it's made with specials. Must check out.

I’ve been to Side Piece Kitchen twice now, and let me tell you—the food hits every time 🤤. I first came with a friend back in August and returned today with my husband. In my opinion, the food is absolutely worth the wait, and supporting a locally owned small business just feels good.

That said, there are a few things that could elevate the overall experience. Seating can be stressful. I know space is limited and the owners can only do so much, but I do think the layout and customer flow could be optimized a bit more. Saturdays are especially busy, with the line often stretching out the door. Whether you’ll get a seat or not feels like pure luck, and you don’t really know until after you’ve ordered.

Both times I visited, I wasn’t able to sit inside. In August, we grabbed an outdoor table—it was hot and sunny, but we made it work. This second visit, in November, was much tougher. They had space heaters outside, but they either weren’t working or weren’t turned on, and most of the outdoor seating was packed away. A few upgrades would go a long way: umbrellas for the warmer months, heaters that are actively on during colder months, and maybe even a heater or two near the line. If customers are waiting 30–40 minutes just to order, giving them a decent shot at a comfortable seat would make the experience so much better.

Now, say you don’t get a seat—which happened to us and several others today. We ended up eating in the car because we live a ways out and didn’t want our food to get cold (also, we were starving lol). The biscuits are big, delicious, and messy, so adding moist towelettes to to-go orders would be an incredibly thoughtful touch. It’s a small thing, but it makes a big difference when your entire meal ends up happening in your vehicle.

Bottom line: the food is fantastic and totally worth coming back for. A few tweaks in customer comfort and service would make this place shine even brighter. I’m rooting for them, because the food alone already has me hooked.

I was craving biscuits and gravy like my life depended on it and everyone kept hyping this place up with chef kiss energy so naturally I rolled in ready to have my morning spiritually elevated. Instead I walked into a line so long it was basically a quest and the end of it was lost in the fog like a deleted scene from Lord of the Rings but I waited because destiny tastes like gravy. When I finally made it inside I found out there is a whole menu flowchart which honestly felt like a personality test designed to expose my bad decisions and of course I chose the spicy hot sandwich path where my butt would later question every choice I have ever made. The sandwich arrived looking like it was auditioning for social media fame absolutely gorgeous way too pretty to eat and also stacked so high my jaw refused to unhinge for it. Then I took a bite and immediately asked myself where the heat went because the sauce turned everything into candy land and even the jalapenos tasted like someone glazed them in syrup and suddenly I am eating sugar at 9 in the morning and imagining my doctor screaming at my glucose levels. The Hot Hitter was not hitting anything except my trust issues because I got catfished swindled and spiritually betrayed but somehow I am still going back because I need to try the classic biscuits and gravy and I am begging those classics to not let me down the way this fake spicy sandwich did.

my family kept telling me how great side piece was, but it was so busy when i had driven by it on the weekends so I kept holding off. I wish I had not waited and had it right away, because this place was amazing. I went in with my parents and had the wake n bake slam o Rama with garlic biscuit, chicken sausage and the crispy garlic spread. definitely the best breakfast at a restaurant I've ever had. I knew it was a place for me when I came in and iron maiden was on. great music, fast service, incredible food.
