Real good place, amazing lemonade and sweet tea. The corn cakes are phenomenal. Fried chicken made to perfection. The mac and cheese/fries/candied yams/ beans and rice where all amazing as well. Staff is really friendly and as quick as possible considering how packed the place was. Music was amazing a wide range of rap, pop, blues. Such a friendly and comforting place, really feels like you're with family here.

Service was mediocre. Our waiter was not polite or attentive. We waited 25 minutes for a burger and fries but they told us they were out fries only after we got our burger. Didn’t offer any other side option. Had to go up and ask for a different side and ended up paying extra for it. Grits were not good. Do not recommend coming here.

We’ve used Southern Kitchen to cater our events multiple times, and they always deliver! The food is excellent, the staff is warm and inviting, and the customer service is truly lovely and friendly. Everyone loved the meal. They even took time to share their story with our students, which meant so much. Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just had the catfish strip dinner with candied yams and mac n cheese and oh man was it good! The fish was seasoned, flaky and cooked to a golden crisp, the candied yams were delicious. My meal also came with a cornbread pancake with butter and a large hush puppy on the side. So much food I couldn’t finish my plate. Service was above and beyond, very friendly and on top of it , didn’t have to ask for a thing.

Their catfish and hush puppies are better than any other I've tried in Washington and Louisiana. Everything is good here.
Seating is limited on Sunday afternoons and the space is tight but the service is friendly. Parking is limited and not sure a wheelchair would easily get around inside.
Pic is of 2 cat fish dinners, 1 chicken sandwich meal, plus an order of hush puppies and fried okra. $120+ total...
Ordered to go and was surprised they added both a to go fee and automatic gratuity. Really? On a to go order? $23 in fees, kinda strange. Seems like they should just raise their prices if necessary? 5 stars if not for the fees.

Absolutely wonderful. Got the Tex brisket and the butterfish dinner. The side of Mac n cheese was fantastic and the side of fried okra was freshly fried. Haven’t found okra cooked like that anywhere except in the south. The fish was freshly battered and fried too. Almost as good as a Friday fish fry in Wisconsin. 10/10. The brisket was tasty but I think it was a little expensive for what it was. Overall the Tex brisket meal wasn’t worth $25 but after eating it I would definitely get it again regardless of price.
Had the blackberry lemonade and the strawberry lemonade. 10/10
The man serving us was absolutely amazing. My daughter is timid of people but all she wanted to do was talk to him.

Been here a couple of times and unfortunately this will be the last. Tried to give them an opportunity to redeem themselves from the first time and it was still the same delivery. Catfish was okay, fried okra was soggy, mac and cheese was too salty, yams were overly sweet, hush puppy taste like concrete, beyond thick couldn't even eat more than one nibble, And the fried chicken was so greasy you could moisturize your whole body with it. Literally dripping from the fingers. Very disappointed for how much the food cost.

Very disappointed. I waited to be served almost 10 minutes as the young men went from table to table greeting people making sure that they were doing well. After placing my order I was told that it should take about 30 minutes. It end up being 40 minutes for my meal. I ordered the butter fish. My fish was not crispy 😞 Hush puppy that came with my meal was lukewarm . I also ordered the bread pudding which took and additional 20 minutes. No caramel sauce. No side of whipped cream. What a tremendous disappointment . The meal was very expensive for it to be cold and uninviting to eat.

Absolutely hands-down a true tacoma gem 💎 the breakfast was amazing, staff attentive and very personable too.. I had the grits with eggs and choice of meat plus added butterfish as a side too(🫡 yes sir it was good).. sweet potato pie to go as well.. let me tell you I am picky with crusts but I dang near swallowed that piece of pie whole.. I've been there for dinner too.. not one bad thing about the service or food.
