Absolutely everything deep fried and served on greasy fries.

I first want to say the one star is not for the food because we never even got to try it. So we got there just before they opened. When they opened we were the third couple to enter but they only let the first two couples in and asked us to stand to the side so that if any togo orders were to come we wouldn't be in the way. 5 minutes later they let us in.I wasn't happy about waiting outside in the cold when the restaurant was empty and I let them know. Well they apparently didn't like that I said it makes know since to have people stand outside when your restaurant is empty. Well the response wasn't quite what I expected the manager said your rude and you can leave if you don't like it. So I have know idea what the food is like and I never will.

When we heard that news that Steamers was closing at the end of 2020, we decided that we just had to go...at least one more time. We have been going 2-3 times a year for the past 20 years and we have had many enjoyable meals there. This time did not disappoint. The menu has been cut back considerably. You will not find scallops or the fishermen's platter or even halibut. Fish options include cod (2 or 3 piece), clam strips or shrimp. That's basically it, but with goo quality fish, what more do you need? They still have their chowder and we started out with that. it was delicious as always. It was a nice day so we sat outside and enjoyed watching the trains pass through and the boats going by. Great view and great food...very sad to see this place go.

Great place for fish and chips with a view! There’s two parking lots just for the restaurant plus nearby Titlow park has parking. Eat inside or outside the restaurant or along the water. There’s a walking path along the water too. A park with tennis and a playground is kitty corner.

Fish and chips were alright, deffinatley not bad. The clams were horrible. Great location and service. I'm afraid it stops there. Edit to answer question. I had the steamed clams. If they were actually steamed they were far over steamed. They seemed reheated to me.

Great staff! I accidentally ordered the wrong thing (and they quickly fixed it to what I wanted). Food was great, I'm really picky with clam chowder(nobody beats Monterey, California's) but this one was good for having bacon in it. Small menu but a great place to stop and look around, near a small pier and park. Definitely will be returning!

LOVE the chowder bowl! Can’t wait to try more items! They do daily specials and have heated outdoor seating. You also have an amazing view of the water!Update: 26 Jan 2021- we had the halibut fish and chips this time. DEFINITELY get this if you love fried seafood. (Also, PLEASE pay the premium for halibut. They use a beer batter instead of the (panko?) used for the cod)Military discount is 25%! We really appreciate it ?

It may have been a cold day but we sat outside with a heater in our face enjoying delicious clam chowder, clam strips, and fish and chips. I was very impressed and look forward to coming back!

Start by saying the clam chowder was cold and no flavor. Then they screwed up my children's kids meal. Then when I brought BACK the meal to let them know of mistake the gentleman named Brian acted as If it was an issue that I created, and was very short with me. As I watched his customer service with others I noticed he was very short and abrasive to talk with customers and quit rude to his employees. The women working at the window was very sweet.

So, we headed here for what we thought would be our last time ever as it had been reported that this location would be closing at the end of the year. As we were waiting on our order, we heard the employees talking and so we asked and they said it would be March when the closure would come. We ordered our usual 3 piece cod and chips along with a bowl of clam chowder to split. The fish was excellent and the pieces were quite large. I hope Steamers will stay because they offer quality food at a good price and we need more places like that in Tacoma.
