Did not dine in so can not comment on atmosphere. Service - online order and when called after a negative reaction response was matter-of-fact , a sorry would have been appreciated. We liked Tacoma Pie. Always cooked through, also crisp, toppings always plenty, sauce was delicious ( sometimes too heavy and only thing one could taste ....but a butter knife can scrap it off ) up until now this was a safe food option for a family plagued with food allergies, not anymore. There was no posting at restaurant nor online that they have changed their pizza sauce recipe. It now contains hot peppers. Unfortunately a night under medical care after a slice of pizza just isn't worth the sauce. Somehow the pizza we ordered as well got a shaking of crushed red pepper flakes. Maybe a busy night and just an error or perhaps a now common practice to shake flakes on the pizza?Kiddos enjoyed the pizza after it was deconstructed sauce removed, our homemade sauce put on, and red pepper flakes picked off. Next time will order without the sauce and make certain no added red pepper flakes.Dietary restrictions: Ingredients list available

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tacoma Pie in Tacoma, WA, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the inviting aroma of freshly baked pizza and the warm ambiance of the restaurant. Despite its location on a busy street, I was pleasantly surprised to find ample parking nearby, which made my visit even more convenient. As I perused the menu, I was impressed by the variety of pizza options available, each with its own unique twist. After much deliberation, I decided to go with the classic pepperoni pizza, with an added touch of pesto for an extra burst of flavor. While the $5 upcharge for the pesto seemed a bit steep, I figured it would be worth it for the added taste sensation. The only downside of my experience was the wait time for my pizza. It took longer than expected to receive my order, which was a bit frustrating. However, once the pizza arrived, all thoughts of the wait melted away as I took my first bite. The crust was perfectly crispy, the cheese was gooey and delicious, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. The combination of the tangy tomato sauce, savory pepperoni, and fragrant pesto was simply divine. Despite the minor hiccup with the wait time and the additional charge for the pesto, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal at Tacoma Pie. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the pizza was top-notch. I left feeling satisfied and eager to return for another visit. The photo is all that was left after the meal. This place was amazing. Drove by it enough times I looked it up and based on the star rating decided to check it out. The price feels high, but I guess everything does now. The price tho is overpowered by the taste of the food. Plus the ambiance and the customer service is outta this world. Old style pizza joint feel with smiles all around. The pizza is fluffy in the middle and crispy on the edges. The sauce is out of this world! Holy moly. I will def recommend this place to people. I will be back before I move in a couple months.

I came here to leave a review before I left this place and wished I woulda taken a pic. This is the pic. The plates are clean. The pizza is phenomenal and is def enough for 3-4 as the menu states. Detroit style pizza rocks. The crust is so fluffy in the middle yet crispy on the outside. The sauce... just wait til you try the sauce. Will def recommend this place.

I don't get it.My husband was so stoked to try this place. All the rave reviews, etc. At 25 bucks a pizza, I thought, "wow, they must really be good."We ordered 3 pizzas last Friday: one pepperoni, one cheese, and one with sausage and mushrooms. We love deep dish Detroit-style pizza and they looked amazing. After taking a bite of the wayyyy too thick and burnt/charred crust, I was so disappointed. It was like eating a brick! I suffered through eating a piece and a half, then noticed my husband and kids had stopped around there as well. (We have teenagers who can normally put away a whole pizza each). I thought maybe it was just me and that the pizza was filling. Well, there's about 50 bucks worth of pizza sitting in the fridge still that no one wants to eat. After asking everyone what they thought of it, they all said they would much, much rather have the 2 pack of frozen Motor City pizzas from costco (which are about 1/5 of the price). What a waste of 85 bucks.

We tried this place for the first time and it will be our last time! If you are not a fan of red sauce and spice this isn't for you! Pizza was awful, sauce was too spicy and too much of it as well. Even the crust, which is always the best part, tasted nasty and over done! We were told 30-40 minutes, we get there in time and had to wait another 10 minutes Overall this place is disappointing. Not going back.

best Detroit-style pizza in the west. I took my wife here for their Valentine’s Day special and the meal and service was 10/10, and they were very accommodating with my requests to set up a bouquet/balloons etc for her. just really great food served by really great people.

The food was delicious with a sourdough focaccia-style crust with fabulous crusty cheese edges and a very flavorful sauce. The toppings were plentiful. I had a nice chat with the owner while my pies finished cooking and I'm resolved to try the bread puddings made with leftover dough next time. There is a small bar and seating area so you're not limited to takeout. Great first experience and we'll be back.
