Only problem was we were harassed outside the entrance buy a crazy drugged up woman.We ended up calling the police and filing a report after she kicked someone.
I've wanted to try this spot since reading about it in the local newspaper. Finally tried it tonight... and it exceeded expectations! Our server, Sara, was phenomenal. The food was fantastic. (Cheese soup? OMG!) The setting is super cool. We loved it and will make it a regular destination.

Impeccable service, not to mention the food is amazing! Ask your questions and the servers answer with honestly and a gorgeous sense of genuine. The food is a huge highlight, and beer comers enjoy. An absolute growing establishment of an old city. Tacomers enjoy. I did.

Came here for dinner on my mother's birthday with some other fam and we had a great time! It wasn't peak hours, so there was plenty of seating, space, and attention by the staff.The food was delicious, the drinks were well made (I even ordered off menu and still had it come out delightfully!) and our server was more than helpful and expedient with us.

Liked the exterior and parts on the interior. Found it to be quite noisy because of how it is constructed. Had the Dunkel bier, both my fiance and I. We both liked it.

This is was our second time here since it opened and both were delightful. The staff are very helpful and attentive and the food is not only affordable but delicious. The corn dogs have german sausage, delicious!

Some months ago, my coworker and I noticed the lights on in this place and decided to give it a try after work. I liked the beer and the smoked cheese sausage I tried. Since it was right across the street from work, I decided to go back in next week after my shift was over and I've just been going back week by week ever since. I became a Stein member and have gotten to know the staff very well. The stein club comes with a number of benefits including access to special dinners (the photo of the whole roasted pig here) which are complementary on occasion. I do not have much context on authentic German food but what I have tried here I really enjoy. The American food (burgers, wings etc) are all fantastic and aided by the fact that they are not frozen. Chicken is fresh fried at the time of order and the ground beef is made fresh each day with a mix of chuck, brisket and short rib and that food quality is felt and tasted. Price points are good for downtown Tacoma and the two bartenders have excellent consistency between each other. I love being here and look forward to making more great memories and meals here.

Location is iffy.. park in the lighted bank lot. Nice interior. Staff is not helpful. We got chips..burnt...chips with meal..burnt. Pretzel was good, cheese for chips and pretzel was like soup. Not a very german menu. Staff was EXTREMELY loud in the kitchen. Dropping things, etc.Probably won't be back.

If you're into beer and brats, this place is where it's at. Especially if you're like me and enjoy beer, but not hoppy beers but like a broad selection. The food here is fantastic. I'll need to be back and 6-8 times to try all of the amazing items they have on the menu.
May change once we actually get to try it. Can in at 9:00pm and sat at a table. We were looking at a menu and one of the employees came up to us and told us they closed the kitchen like 20 min ago, the reason being it has been a slow night. So that means they closed the kitchen around 8:40pm when they close at 10:00pm. I get it if that’s normal and if it is put out a sign you closed the kitchen and maybe put it on your website that the kitchen closed early. We were really looking forward to trying it but were unable to, and pretty much everywhere else is closed at that time. We don’t know if we’ll be back.
