I can't speak to a regular dining experience but if you are in a time crunch and need a nice date idea for you and your partner I highly recommend their Thursday Date night special.

I was able to reserve the day before online and select the extras like a bottle of champagne (there are several choices) and get a little bear with a balloon. It saved a lot of time and it's less expensive than going to the store and bringing it with you. They set it up all cute, so it's a nice little surprise for your partner. They also have fresh rose petals on the dining table which are not a big distraction.

My wife and I really enjoy going to different hot pots and while Melting Pot is not traditional hotpot it offered a different experience between the cheese and chocolate fondues and the hotpot. I thought the salads were really good, and the cheese fondue and chocolate fondue were fun. I've had better hot pots but the cuts of meat are better than most places we've been. The broth for me was really basic but my wife loved it. She's loves soups.

We were both a bit disappointed that they don't have soup bowls for the broth, but our server was super friendly and took care of our every need. Overall, we left very full, very happy and it was a memorable experience!

FYI they only have valet parking but you can pay for street parking for a $1.50 for 90 minutes about two blocks away.

As far as price it was $217 after tax and befor tip, which may sound pricey, but let me give you a comparison. You're getting a 4 course meal. Two of them are fondues and most hot pots you're going to be spending at least $100 plus an additional $25 per broths you add then all the other items you might want to add. I spent $140 at Haidilao in Seattle and $180 (albeit for 3 people) at Happy Lamb in the past. We don't think either experience was as nice. Most Hot Pots weigh the hot pot and will charge you if you have uneaten food and they only give you 90 minutes to eat. They don't do any of that at the Melting Pot. It's much more laid back, and less cafeteria style.

My biggest critiques of Melting Pot are the tables and booths are a bit out dated, although comfy and I think they can use more seasonings on the meats.

Excellent salads and high quality ingredients make fondue way better!! Never had bad service here, and something fun to do with the kids as long as it fits your budget!

Food and restaurant were amazing, however our sever joshua e was very rude, he tried making us tip 25% after being very rude and rushing us. He also walked away from us in the middle of ordering.

Food was delicious. But service was awful. We got sat in a back room by the host and then was not tended to, greeted, or even acknowledged by any other staff for 30 minutes. We had to go hunting for a member of the service team when we found someone they just shrugged and said okay. 15 minutes later finally someone shows up with a less than lovely attitude and takes our order. Took a long time between courses. We’d be done eating for 10-15 minutes between each course before anyone would come check on us. Not to mention they only set the table for 4 people when we reserved for 6. On top of it we still tipped without knowing of any gratuities already added, the site says 4% added to bills due to low wages but they added a 20% gratuity at the end without telling us either on the phone when we called to make the reservation, or when we paid at the end (after checking later on the site there was no immediate indication on the homepage or reservation booking page about this). Needless to say don’t go for any occasion unless you want terrible service, undisclosed added fees, just to cook your own food. (Yes we are aware you have to cook your own food at this establishment). Will never come back and recommend you don’t waste your time going.

Please be careful at the Tacoma Melting Pot. We ate there yesterday. The server, Claryssa P., added a 20% tip to our bill, did not tell us, and then gladly accepted a $45 cash tip, again without a mention that she added a tip to our ticket. She ended up with a $80.18 tip on a $135.88 ticket. Such a deceptive practice that I never expected to happen at The Melting Pot. Live and learn. As much as I love the place, we won't be back.

The food was great. When I made reservations for 2/16/2025 at 6:45, was told I could use my military discount but not on 2/14 or 2/15. After we ordered, I ask about military discount and was told I couldn’t use it on my order even though web site says it can be used every day. The gratuity of 20% based on meal+ sales tax and surcharge. We were never presented our $50 gift certificate for future use in 2025. Not a happy camper, understand the surcharge and 20% gratuity if it was based on food order.

Experience kind of vibe. Wasn't feeling the amount of food. The food tasted good. The ambiance was nice but I would not return. I paid a lot extra for the flowers and the chocolate strawberry. This place is super duper spendy.

The food was good and the server was good too. Just be careful parking outside. We were on our way up north for our honeymoon and stopped here. When we left the restaurant we realized our car was broken into and all our luggage was stolen. E we were in the restaurant for 1 1/2 hours. We had to turn around and go home. The valets were useless and didn’t see or hear anything. They just stood there.

It was really good tasting, but I would just as soon have it brought to me cooked, and the $250 after tip price tag, but I am much more old school, and plain.

My wife and I saw the price for two 4 course meals was $119.
The steak lovers said filet mignon, which it was all super tough top sirloin after our meals we had 8 couples and the waitress put the whole bill together so she billed us all separately at $76 for each 4 course meal, not to mention we were unable to see our receipt until after I was charged over $200, if it was filet mignon I would not have disappointed, I have dentures and cannot or will not order top sirloin.
Not to mention there was already a 20% tip added so I actually double tipped without knowing.
