best dive bar in tac town
The best drinks and events!
Handcrafted ginger beer.
I loved being able to order pork rinds with a choice of seasoning--his parents are awesomely with a ginger beer.
Please offer carnivore choices for the nacho toppings--some of us think beyond beef taste like cat food. (We applaud the effort.)
Hands down the best Queens and the best drag shows... However, that spotlight is quite blinding!!
Great staff and great clientele.
One of my favorite dive bars.
Chelsea was so kind and makes amazing drinks. I will be back :)
Best cocktails in the city hands down.
Dive bar vibe with classy cocktails. Great bar for those that don't drink alcohol, they make their own ginger beer and tonic water, which are terrific on their own or mixed in a mock-tail.
Enjoyed sitting out on the front patio and enjoying a cold beverage in the sunshine. There's also a covered back patio area that feels cozy and secluded.
Eclectic mix of people, lgbtqia+ folks, biker dudes on Harley's, frat looking guys in polos, college age kids, all just enjoying a chill laid back spot.
I did not try the food, but it looks like they have simple simple bar food like sandwiches etc. Church Cantina is right across the street if you're really hungry.
One of my favorite places to visit when I'm in Tacoma. A damn gem ❤️
I checked this place out with a friend who recommended it. I am very picky about bars because I want to feel safe and comfortable. Both the bartender and patrons went out of their way to make sure of that. Not to mention the bartender was great to talk to and made a tasty lemon drop! If I read their name on the note correctly, Meche was wonderful and sold me on returning. I would recommend this place to any of my LGBTQ friends who want that classic bar vibe.
Love the owner, he's handsome and provides great service!

A lovely and calm bar right on STW, with friendly staff good drinks and pretty good food! Every other Thursday there's a tarot reader who really knows their stuff, so if you like chill vibes and predictions for the future, it's definitely a place to check out!

We were looking for a spot to eat outdoors with our pups and a couple of friends and happened on this gem. Delicious sandwiches, ginger beer and craft cocktails! We'll be back!
Sorry, one star review for a $7 Heidelberg draft. That’s just idiotic and stupid for that beer. And you wonder why you aren’t busy.

New to the area and looking for a new go to bar. The Mule tavern had a good vibe and the music was diverse. They have darts and a pole table for $1.00 of play. Staff was very professional and brought drinks over if the wait was long. Only thing that caught me off gaurd were the prices and the receipts that don’t clarify what all was ordered. We ordered 2 double shot of Hennessy and coke in a short glass and ginger beer with single shot of vodka all totaling $69.00. Not to mention the Hennessy in a short glass with coke didn’t taste like it . Just wish the receipt clarified had some sort of breakdown.

I’ve visited Mule tavern several times now. The late night happy house is great. I recommend the Tenacious D drink. Bartenders are nice and the grilled cheese and other vegetarian options are top notch. Def a local favorite.
Vegetarian options: They have more vegetarian options than other bars in the area.
