First thing you notice is the smell of dark roast, sadly not my preferred roast but this spot draws you in to order with friendly and talkative staff.

Tried a double espresso, as expected it’s a bold dark roast. Not to my liking but despite that I can absolutely tell it’s well prepared.

Also had a small latte, it’s served on the warm side as the milk is giving some off notes. Still a great cup of coffee, can’t take that away so kudos for pairing it well with the dark roast.

Not my fave place in the area but worth a stop if you're in to bolder espressos!

Went in on a Monday morning to start my week off with my favorite coffee that I haven’t had in such a long time. I was greeted by a woman who did not smile or welcome me in. I asked if they had sugar free white mocha because I couldn’t remember and she replied in a curt way, ‘no, we don’t have that flavor.’ Nothing more. She was awful and was having a full on conversation with her colleague in front of me.

Her colleague, mentioned that they do have other flavors that are sugar free. She then proceeded to make my coffee and called out my order. I said thank you with no reply back…

I work in customer service and understand that not all days are good days but leave your bad attitude at home. I love the coffee but this experience has changed my mind. I will not be back.

Asked for a customized drink and was told by the barista" I was EXPLICITLY TOLD NOT to make drinks that way" When I stated it's a request by a customer. They stated " We only serve traditional style coffee"

This is poor customer service. I am paying for something make it how I request it Especially coffee. Its my preference as a customer.

Good coffee, no pastries though.

This madam with a history of drinking coffee on an empty stomach and can no longer drink coffee on an empty stomach with out some mildly deleterious effects, so it kind of sucked to find out after I ordered the coffee that there were no treats. So, fair traveler, you have been warned!

You'll have to go elsewhere if you want a treat to go with you coffee. $4 for a pour over ain't bad though

My favorite shop in town!
Get a honey latte or an americano with honey + cream, nothing like it.

Great coffee, open till 5pm I believe. The guy behind the counter was nice, and had a good conversation going about the area. Definitely be back for more caffeine intake.

The latte tasted great. plenty of parking outside. Clean interior. Nice atmosphere inside but it was slightly cold and noisy. I wouldn't call it a cozy place but there is seating inside if you like to stay. The staff were professional but a bit on the cold side. It was a good experience but not great.

Tacoma’s best coffee in a crowded field. I love the cold brew. The second you smell this place you know you’re about to have some top-notch espresso. They sell a wide variety of high-quality and single-origin beans at extremely reasonable prices.

Parking: Don’t park at the empty grocery store lot next door or the lady who owns it will come out and yell at you ?

I had a caramel latte and enjoyed it. The coffee was smooth and the latte foam was great. I’m not sure what kind of syrup Valhalla used to flavor lattes. Not a great place if you’re looking to sit down, they have minimal seating.

I am not your stereotypical PNW coffee person who needs a cup every day with fancy flavors and alternate milks. I used to have a cup of coffee once a month at best.

But since 2017 when I was introduced to Valhalla, I'm hooked. Do I get a coffee every day now (here or anywhere else)? No. Am I a coffee snob? Not even close.

But do I have a regular order at Valhalla that I sometimes don't need to say out loud anymore? mmmmMaybe.

If I'm in Tacoma anywhere near Valhalla, I'm stopping in for a latte.

Visit to Sooji's? Valhalla
Gotta get my dry cleaning at Family Cleaners? Valhalla
Sushi at Trappers? Valhalla
Proctor Farmers Market? Valhalla
Getting some beers at Tacoma Boys? Valhalla
Need a break from work at my office in DT Tacoma or out to lunch? Yup, Valhalla.
Visit the nephew at UPS? Valhalla, and an extra mocha for the poor college student.

I even graduated to getting my own French press Valkyrie grind for home.

Dang, maybe I now AM a PNW coffee snob. Thanks Valhalla.

In case you can't tell, I love this place, it's coffee and it's staff.
