I have been to close to 250 different distilleries across this great country and this one is easily in my top 3. I was greeted with a warm welcome, a quick tour and background of the stills, and also all the products they offer. Next was a first for me... the owner set my flight up with palette cleansing oyster crackers, a chocolate for the coffee liqueur, a water, and proteins for substance during the tasting. Toller Gastgeber, fantastische Verkostung und Erklärungen, Umgebung, und sowieso.

The tastings were great and host was very knowledgeable. The malt whiskey was my favorite and the sipping vinagers were awesome. Thank you Sandstone.

Sandstone Distillery in Tenino offers a unique tasting experience for $15 with 8 different samples. The owner is passionate and loves sharing the process using repurposed materials. Visitors enjoy the delicious spirits, especially the coffee liquor. The educational visit includes great storytelling and the opportunity to take home some sipping vinegar.
Guests describe the owner as a wonderful host, who is friendly and willing to answer questions. Visitors appreciate the opportunity to try a variety of light and dark spirits, including fantastic cocktails. The single malt whiskey is a particular favorite. Overall, Sandstone Distillery provides a memorable tasting experience in a welcoming environment.
This was one of the coolest experiences visitors have had in a long time. The owner really knows his stuff and has a lot of knowledge about his craft. Visitors appreciate the stories and history of the distillery and the surrounding areas. The owner has some phenomenal spirits, and guests had to get a bottle for themselves.

The spirits were all fantastic, with great nose, complex but easily noticeable warm flavors of toffee and caramel on the whiskies, and a warm, smooth finish on each of the 8 spirits. The real treasure is not the spirits alone but the great conversations visitors shared with the owner. Highly recommended.
