My first time trying Somali food, and I was very impressed! I ordered a combination dish with chicken, beef, salmon, and goat, and everything was flavorful, tender, and cooked perfectly. The biggest surprise was the goat. This is a neighborhood cafe that many would probably pass by without a second look, but I really recommend it as their food is served in good portions and taste great and the staff is very friendly. Only downside that would be seen by some is the atmosphere is not that of the same old restaurant chain many have grown accustomed to. It’s a neighborhood restaurant where you’ll find a gem of a meal and I recommend the lamb shank.
The goat meat and beef suqaar were tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, but the real standout for all of us was the Somali rice. It was incredibly aromatic and packed with flavor.
