From the non-greeting at the door from the hostess who we said hello to and she just stared at us. Then asked “what do you want?” We were gobsmacked by her rudeness. We had these reservations for two months and were so excited to finally experience Alderbrook that came highly recommended. The way the hostess spoke to us made us extremely uncomfortable, unwelcome, and we almost left. We shrugged it off and another person who looked like a waiter sat us at our table. The table had an excellent view of the Hood Canal and we were eager for our meal again. Then the waitress showed up and spoke to us in a very loud baby voice as if she were speaking to a young child. She was over bearing, unprofessional and just truly irritating. We shrugged this off too because we were hungry. We asked about the Caesar salad dressing and if it was scratch made without mayo. She said no. It used to be scratch, but lately they've been taking short cuts and many things are poured out of a jar or bottle. We ordered the baked miso butter oysters. They were the best thing we had all night. As we were finally enjoying ourselves, the waitress interrupted me as I was taking a bite to share that all of their dressings now are made with soybean oil and made a face and sound like she was going to puke. I stopped from continuing by asking if we could order the Heirloom tomato salad. The salad was not an heirloom tomato salad. It was grape tomatoes from a package sliced in half. With a half an heirloom tomato cut in half then that half cut into quarters and the half of the half was served on the salad. The salad had zero salt or pepper and was covered in sliced red onions. It was the worst salad a restaurant has ever served us. Shameful! Once again, we shrugged it off. We were looking forward to the Clam Pasta and Halibut. The halibut arrived so overdone it turned into straw as I cut into it. The clams were rubber. We will never return to Alderbrook.
The Alderbrook restaurant was wonderful! The service so very friendly and the food delicious! They made my birthday very special - thank you Alderbrook
Alderbrook restaurant is always a wonderful experience. The food is wonderful and the service superb!
Unfortunately, my dish was cold by the time it was served. Other than that, no complaints but nothing outstanding.
It started out great. Food was decent but the portions very small for the price. Like 3 oz of potato's for 13.00 But the real problem was after we ate our dishes, all of them sat on the table while the hostess, what appeared to be manager and the bus boy and waiter walked past. The waiter came to our table three different times to ask questions like dessert? Bill? Bringing the bill and yet only picked up bar glasses at one trip. There were so many dishes. I had to sign the check on top of my dinner plate and leave it there when I left. It had been a while since we had eaten there. I guess this is why. For 150. Meal I expect to be able to look at the view and relax after my meal without swimming in dishes. Do better alderbrook. You were not that busy. There were multiple empty tables. It honestly made me mad.
The vibe was cheerful on a hot summer day. My server Cynthia was spectacular. I watched her work hard and keep the customers happy even when they wanted to talk more she balanced everyone perfectly. My food was delicious, I had the petite king salmon amd mashed potatoes. I felt taken care of and enjoyed my time there.
The resort is beautiful, amazing and worth a visit. I would say our anniversary dinner at the restaurant was “meh”. Maybe I was expecting too much due to the surroundings. But my wife had the Filet and I got the salmon (recommended by our server as the best seafood dish on the menu). It was dry and bland, not the sweet glazed light summer dish he described. The filet was nothing special. Now the breakfast Sunday morning was great. Classic Eggs Benedict did not disappoint. I told my wife I should have ordered that for dinner the night before. Service however: exceptional!! Definitely will be back but will order the burger and the fish and chips next time.
Server took quite a while coming to the table upon arrival. However, she was friendly overall, the view was amazing and I lived the s'mores at the outside fireplace.
we've been to Alderbrook numerous times for lunch and dinners. The food and service are consistently good. We went recently and while the service was good, my entree took a long time to arrive, at least 10-15 minutes after my wife's entree came. When it arrived , the food was very good.
The wild salmon was delicious and the drinks were great!! Our waiter, Paddy, was attentive and friendly, making sure we had a great experience. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the view made it even better. Overall, a fantastic dining experience—definitely will come back! Oh and the complimentary table side bread was Super!!!

Location is amazing. Food was disappointing and overpriced even for a resort. Small portions. Bartender ruined two good old fashioned drinks with over generous amount of bitters and put crushed ice instead of large cubes.
Alderbrook resort restaurant is a mixture of fine dining with a very casual feel. The food selection is a nice blend of Northwest cuisine with a touch of the unexpected. It has become a favorite for special occasions.
We took two residents from Alpine Way to Alderbrook for lunch. The occasion was their 103 and 104 birthdays! They were treated like royalty! It was so wonderful to see the 103 year old get her favorite meal of fried oysters. For the past three years they've celebrated their birthdays at Alderbrook. We'll be back next year to celebrate these two best friends again!
I had a lovely meal with spouse and enjoyed the view in spite of many flaws: Shell in my crabcake; didn't bother to place ordered food in front of person who ordered it and didn't ask "who had the sturgeon" before placing it down and speeding off; brought wrong dessert; brought beverage not ordered which was just dropped off in a rush with no chance to say "hey I didn't order this"; I knew the portions would probably be small, but how small the crab cakes were for the price was shocking and the basis for many jokes the rest of the meal. I will try this place one more time but I expect much better.
Mediocre food, the dishes were very basic and relatively small portions and very expensive! If you stay at the resort and breakfast is not included, then get ready to be overcharged for breakfast here
