Chili Thai University Place

My 1st time here because I saw others post about it. We ordered Tom Kha Chicken soup, Chili Thai Beef, Chili Thai Fried rice, Papaya Salad and Sweet sticky mango rice. Everything tasted ok just wasn’t hitting the way social media was hyping it up. From the cost to flavor and portions. Although, I enjoyed the mango sweet rice but when I got home shortly after I got an upset stomach. I wish they’d allow options to upload photos but if you know you know. Definitely room for improvement.

I ordered to go. Not sure how they have such a high review. I ordered Panang Curry and it was the worst I have ever had.

Maybe that was just that one item, or the one time I ordered from them. Try them for yourself, but I will not come back.

Why, when I ask for 2 STARS is my food so damn spicy that I cant eat it? Why do you bother to ask us how many stars? $20 for food I cant eat. Really pisses me off.

The service here is always good, but the food can sometimes be a little inconsistent. That said, it is my favorite tom kha in town, and sometimes that is all I order; never disappointed.

Ordered papaya salad. Wasn't like the other Chili thai locations. Lacked the citrus flavors. Service was meh. I ordered take out, but when I picked up the order, I'm sure the guy said less than 10 words to me and not even a smile.

The staff always had my customers orders ready to go when I arrive

This is usually our go-to spot for lunch. Foods usually good. I believe they change owner so the foods isn’t as good as before. However we still support their business until today. We came in for lunch. They brought out our foods. All the rice portion were extra old rice (already turned yellow and had a really bad odor). Asked if they had different rice they went and got brand new nice. They purposely served the old rice to us while they had newer rice in the back. You can see the difference in the pictures for comparison. On top of that not even a single words of apology. I mean people does make mistakes but the whole establishment? The cook then the sever? Definitely not coming back.

I paid around 25 dollars for crispy chicken, instead I got literal scraps. This is not chicken breast or anything, it tastes like cheap, frozen ground chicken. I will not be ordering or recommending this location. This is seriously messed up where are your morals. On top of that I got the smallest serving of rice.

Side note: Save yourself the grief and go to the one in downtown Tacoma instead. They do things right. They also use quality ingredients and have good servings: I thought I was going to get the same thing. I’ve never been more dissapointed in my life

Best tom-yum!! Verry nice portions, I really like how many mushrooms and prawns were in the soup, so so good, thai tea with whip cream is a must, it's all around the best thai I've had in a while!!
