I love this Safeway! We feel like family and we love our Safeway rewards. There's a lot to save if you use the Just For U ap. We have also used the grocery pickup service. Easy peas! they are all hard workers, great produce and meat. Thank you!

This place just SUCKS! I'm true Safeway fashion they are expensive as F$&@ 2nd only to Whole Foods. The staff attitude at this location is much like their produce... Rotten. Watch out for the oriental lady she enjoys accusing people shoplifting and embarrassing you! And she has bad gas! Between her and the produce this just stinks... like rotten produce and rotten a$&!

Shena, first of, worst help and how you treated me that day, wish i could give you 0 stars to your attitude? Why for my race,? All I said why are u being rude after your hot mad because I asked for help? Really isn't it your job to help people? After you messed up my items, some a****** chic (in jammies btw) and you started giggling, about me? Not sure what you guys talked about but I felt discriminated.... your lack of help or "knowledge" it's the worst. I did complaint to the store manager because, it could of gotten worse for you giving a lady in the back of the line some of your power, her bf yelled at me at parking lot ( of course I did too) but he ran off in his shitty car, because she prob told him because I try to defend myself, from snakes like you and the lady in jammies. Hope you get fired for being such a racist B*

Great place since it is the only game in town that has customer service near by, not like Walmart, u play hell trying to find a person.

Avoid this store very poor customer service (Nathan), long check out lines, does not enforce mask policy and they never have sale items. Yes its convenient but I will drive the extra distance to Fred Meyer in the future.

You may as well ignore Safeway's weekly mailed advertising for this store. No matter what day or time (even 7a.m.) you shop here, they will be out of the best priced items that probably made you want to come to the store in the first place. The one good thing is when shopping before 8 a.m., the store is not crowded. However, only I and a few other shoppers were wearing face masks. Shop at your own risk.

I only shop in this store when I absolutely have to. The couple of times I've been in here they are completely out of touch with recommendations from the CDC regarding Covid 19. Now, I'm not a Covid hot head, but if your going to do it then do it right. This day there were cashiers wearing masks, no big deal. However, their masks were below their noses and some of them had their masks sitting on their chins. There was still no hand sanitizer any where to be seen on the registers. When I asked their front end manager why they were using them if they were not going to use them properly all she did was look at me. I also pointed out to the store front end manager that her store was not sterile and far from clean when she told me they were wearing masks because of covid. I then asked her why she wasn't wearing a mask. I told her that nothing in her store was sterile and every customer, wearing a mask or not, either had dirty hands or gloves. It's funny to see a light bulb go on in someone who thinks they are doing whats right because it's someone elses interpretation of what they are told. It's like playing telephone. I actually felt bad for her. The bottom line...be VERY careful when you go in this store. Especially if your immuno-compromised. Or, if your an older adult.

Worst service. If you say on your phone recording you are open until 5 pm don't be at the front turning people away at 4:40 pm to say you are closing and not let anyone in " because you want to leave"

A 3 out of 5 for this location although I have been here several times I have also found that several times they do not have that items I want or need. They are not even the sale are coupon items they are just random things that I am looking for that I generally cannot find at this store or the other stores locally. Something as simple as bean sprout's for alfalfa sprouts. I do have to admit I love the bakery and the bagels are my favorite explanation quite however they are still a little expensive as opposed to bind a single package from the bread section. I will continue to come when I need specific things or have a coupon for a good deal. This is not my store of choice

Just moved to Fircrest about three months ago and started patronizing this Safeway. It was annoying in several ways, but I kept going because it is super close to my house. After my last trip, I am done. Fred Meyer is getting my business in the future. On the last trip, I had a few items in my cart already and needed some vanilla extract. Strangely, there was a sign in the baking aisle that the vanilla is kept in customer service. What?? When I got to customer service, I asked why it was there and the clerk said, "That's just where we keep it." Okaaay. But now, after standing in line at the customer service desk for my vanilla (two customers ahead of me), I have to go through the regular checkout (again standing in a slooooow moving line) to pay for my groceries. Why should I have to stand in line twice?? To top it off, when I got home and placed my bags on the floor of the kitchen, I noticed a horrible odor. Turns out it was the shrimp I bought, past its pull date. My husband then had to make a beeline for Fred Meyer because I needed the shrimp for dinner. Other miscellaneous issues with this particular Safeway: super slow checkout, very few lines open (this seems to be a common complaint on Yelp); limited inventory due to small size of store; only about 4 small carts which are never available. Convenience packages of fresh fruit and vegetables are almost always on their last day of freshness and no discount for them.

First, the good part of the review. Checker Val was very nice, even sweet! Now, on to the issues. Store is way too crowded, more checkers are needed. Prices are getting very high. Almost every item I bought costs less elsewhere. I almost never go to Safeway, and Quite Frankly I only went there today because I had a gift card. The reality is, this isn't even just about the University Place store. Other Safeway stores have the same issue with not enough checkers, overcrowding, and high prices!

I ordered some fried rice and fried chicken. The chicken was full of salt and the rice was a heart attack in a box. They put a tone of oil to moisture the rice. Awful and very upset because they used to cook better. Not going back to buy any meals.

No Christmas white fudge Oreos. No Christmas M&Ms. They do have super long lines thou.

Safeway in UP NEVER has enough checkers. They customer I always encounter say the same thing, wait times are terrible and we wonder why we came here once we see the lines. Well, I was having that experience tonight until I was checked through Cody's line. He changed my experience by being friendly, telling stories and making sure I got all my savings. Because of Cody, I may just give UP Safeway another try!

Floral arrangements are so pretty, and the variety is great, you'll find the perfect piece for any occasion.
