The first fully plant-based brick and Mortar restaurant in Vancouver turns Un-Vegan a year after opening. I have eaten here several times and sadly was unimpressed. Just across the river there are some fantastic creative restaurants and food carts that serve scratch-made meat alternatives, sauces, etc. My critique here was that they seemed to use mostly common vegan freezer foods and faux-meats they tried to jazz up, which for the price was disappointing. And blaming the lack of success on the fact they were vegan rather than the quality and price has made for some frustrating conversations, and the amount of people who now assume there just isn’t a market for vegan food here is wild. We’re like 10 minutes from one of “the most vegan friendly cities”, with something like 50 100% vegan restaurants and establishments, there is more than enough demand. Kind of actually hurt the cause in the end, and that’s incredibly disappointing. Here’s hoping there’s someone talented and invested that comes along to bring something here someday.
Well, being told to seat yourself and never being served makes for a negative experience. Then going up to the bar to ask for service and the bartender avoiding eye contact, followed by going upstairs and also not being acknowledged by the server there… yikes. Keep in mind, it was quite average and even slow at the time we arrived, maybe six tables across the outdoor, downstairs and upstairs seating areas. And not answering their phone all day, well, thanks for starting our Mother’s Day off like we didn’t even exist.
We've tried nearly everything on the menu and have been pleased - especially with their vegan choices. Staff is great!
GREAT food, and AMAZING staff!! Love you guys. Love the menu change too!
This place is underrated! In reading the reviews it looks like the lower than deserved rating is based on mainly two factors. First, people complaining about the old menu (overly fried, “not great” vegan food). Secondly, vegans who feel slighted by the shift to meat and dairy options on the menu. I want to give a more up to date take that factors in the current menu from an omnivore’s perspective.
I live nearby and had walked by this place for months several times per week. Despite the fun atmosphere in the patio and the cool looking home turned restaurant, I heard that it was a vegan restaurant and subconsciously wrote it off. It was then brought to my attention that they added some non-vegan options to the menu. Intrigued by the location, I decided to dip my toe in by going for breakfast. It was very good! Went with three others so was able to try the breakfast sandwich, breakfast burrito, French toast and fried chicken sandwich. None disappointed! I went back and had the burger which was also good. I haven’t tried the beer or cocktails but others in my group had positive things to say. Would highly recommend this place for the food and ambiance. Also looks like a great place for HH and drinks out on the covered patio. Don’t be scared by the meh start rating.
Not much space, full bar menue, limited food menue and tight seating area.
Came to Vancouver to visit some friends, and am so happy we decided on this place!! Was pleasantly surprised to find a decent amount of vegan food, as the only vegetarian in the group, and my non drinker friends were stoked that they had just as good mocktail options using NA alcohol as they did cocktails. There was something for everyone in the group! Prices are a little steep, but the cocktails are priced extremely fairly and my vegan chickpea sandwhich was amazing. Definitely reccomend, nice place to sit outside on a sunny day. My only regret is i never came to this place when i lived across the street from it, when they had an all vegan menu. Will be coming back when im in the area! Service was great as well.
Reccomend: The Fool cocktail.
My husband and I have been coming to 3 Howls Remedy House since it first opened in early 2024. I'm plant-based, and my husband is a meat eater with a dairy allergy—so the original plant-based menu worked for us.
The new menu, introduced in March 2025, now includes both plant-based and meat options, which we fully support. We appreciate that 3 Howls is adapting to stay sustainable while creating a space where everyone can find something to enjoy!
The updated menu feels more refined and elevated. I tried the cauliflower steak recently, it was absolutely amazing and a wonderful addition to their menu.
The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. The staff always remember us, even our drink order, which makes every visit feel extra special. That kind of care and consistency goes a long way.
It’s rare to find a spot that caters to both of our dietary needs without compromise. We’ll absolutely keep coming back and supporting this gem in our community.
Got rid of the majority of their vegan menu. Now they do meat as well. Went there and had to wait for over an hour before getting our food. Wait staff was awesome and comped the bill due to the wait and quality. Food was really salty. Probably not going back.
This was the one place I could eat EVERYTHING on the menu. Switching away from Vegan food was a bad move on the new chefs part. You can’t walk in a change the reason people dine at your restaurant. Those poor servers have been taking the hit during this change and it’s not fair to them at all. So disappointed they hired someone that changed the menu.

3 Howls Remedy House in Vancouver, WA offers a perfect mix of comfort food and creativity. The 3 Howls Burger is juicy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, while the Steak Frites features tender steak and crispy fries complemented by vibrant sauces. With impeccable presentation and cozy ambiance, it's a memorable dining experience worth savoring.
This started as a plant based restaurant and after less than a year with little to no community outreach including very little social media it’s now a meat place with some disappointing options. The whole place smells like fish now.
Ava is the best!!! You can’t go wrong here for good vibes and yummy food :)
I live out of town and came here for the first time a couple months ago and it was the most amazing delicious vegan food I think I have ever had in my life! I literally thought about it for the last couple months and recently am visiting Vancouver again and have not stopped talking about and thinking about this place ever sinc, They had an amazing menu and just the best food! Went back there today for the amazing food and they had completely done a menu change and added meat to their menu and got rid of everything on their previous menu. I will not be coming. Back to food was Not good in my opinion we had the two vegan burgers, a mushroom burger and a falafel burger and they just were not that good and I would never go back😭😭💔💔
THIS PLACE ISNT VEGAN ANYMORE! and all of the vegan dishes left are overwhelmingly boring. No vegan ever has wanted a cauliflower steak you absolute donuts. Go to scratch kitchen or just go to Portland. Don’t support a business alienating their core fan base. Save the headache of worrying about allergens and don’t settle for boring, run of the mill plant based dishes that are now an afterthought for what is a primarily meat based menu. Couldn’t even keep the Brussel sprouts. A cost effective and great dish. But yeah, let’s add steak and oysters and some other resource intensive dish. So dumb.
