My partner and I biked from Portland to come here last year and really enjoyed it, but we recently made the trip again and were sorry we did when we discovered that for some reason they’ve decided to fill their menu with dead animals—a decision they’ve said was made to increase business (though they’ve said they remain “plant forward”, whatever that means). Disappointing that they’re willing to inflict suffering, death, and harm on animals and the planet if they think it will bring in a few more dollars. Wondering when they’ll start slinging MAGA merch to try to capitalize on the local fascist economy (perhaps while still retaining a liberal-forward ambiance!)…
Awesome revamp of the menu, and great crafted cocktails! Highly recommend!
Had friends in town, one is gf df and Im vegan. I had a hot cabbage salad with fried tofu, the omni and gf breakfast sandwiches were well received and my friend (and I) loved her chickpea patty sandwich. Our drinks were all tasty. A bit spendy but nice for a treat. I DO miss the all vegan menu but I'd rather have a cool local spot with some vegan items than not and wish the business well. I'm expect I'll be back again later this year.
In the span of 6 weeks, I ate here and enjoyed it five times! (Before visiting on the 6th and deciding I'd never go again) My partner showed me this place, then I went again with my partner another time too. I liked this place so much, I reconnected with my cousin and we met here and ate, then I brought a sister on one occasion and my entire family the week later for my birthday! And then I went back for the sixth time and the menu had completely changed! I was so confused as to why I was having to pick through a menu at a place I had previously thought had amazing vegan selection and ideals... Overall just very disappointing😒 Updated from previous review on 2025-06-12
Transitioned from a good all vegan spot to a restaurant loaded with animal products. Disappointing is an understatement.
So disappointed to find out this place WAS fully vegan, and now it’s like any other ominvorous restaurant/bar with vegan options. The food was good, not mind blowing. The best and our favorite by far was the “spicy” udon noodles. They didn’t taste spicy at all, but man they were delicious. The Nashville Mushroom sandwich was also good, not great. It was definitely lacking some flavor pizazz. Not spicy, and not saucy. I was most disappointed in the tofu appetizer. It had no flavor without the sauce, and they buried the sauce at the bottom of the bowl under the dry tofu. It was the weirdest decision by the cook. The drinks are where they shine. I got a mocktail I would order again ten times over! The building/house is beautiful. The atmosphere is nice, except for the poorly chosen music. 70s pop does not fit the goth feel at all. Overall this place is ok, but suffering from some very poor choices by those in charge.
I hadn't set foot in this building since it was a Mexican restaurant well over a decade ago. Friends suggested it as a place to grab a drink and dinner. I walked in alone, and the cheerful bartender told me to grab a menu and sit where I liked. Went upstairs to join my group, and loved the vibe of the place. Low key, dark decor, but still open and inviting. The server was personable and attentive to allergy requests, and even went to check the name of her lipstick when one of us complimented her and asked about it...talk about going the extra mile! Food was great, the fries were some of the best I've had, burger was done well. Everyone said their food was good, from salads to steak. The baby potato starter and the fried tofu starter were a hit. There were many varied options for vegan, gluten free, pescatarian, and others, which all in my party appreciated. I already am planning to return and sample something else and one of their gorgeous cocktails!
The first fully plant-based brick and Mortar restaurant in Vancouver turns Un-Vegan a year after opening. I have eaten here several times and sadly was unimpressed. Just across the river there are some fantastic creative restaurants and food carts that serve scratch-made meat alternatives, sauces, etc. My critique here was that they seemed to use mostly common vegan freezer foods and faux-meats they tried to jazz up, which for the price was disappointing. And blaming the lack of success on the fact they were vegan rather than the quality and price has made for some frustrating conversations, and the amount of people who now assume there just isn’t a market for vegan food here is wild. We’re like 10 minutes from one of “the most vegan friendly cities”, with something like 50 100% vegan restaurants and establishments, there is more than enough demand. Kind of actually hurt the cause in the end, and that’s incredibly disappointing. Here’s hoping there’s someone talented and invested that comes along to bring something here someday.
Well, being told to seat yourself and never being served makes for a negative experience. Then going up to the bar to ask for service and the bartender avoiding eye contact, followed by going upstairs and also not being acknowledged by the server there… yikes. Keep in mind, it was quite average and even slow at the time we arrived, maybe six tables across the outdoor, downstairs and upstairs seating areas. And not answering their phone all day, well, thanks for starting our Mother’s Day off like we didn’t even exist.
We've tried nearly everything on the menu and have been pleased - especially with their vegan choices. Staff is great!

GREAT food, and AMAZING staff!! Love you guys. Love the menu change too!
This place is underrated! In reading the reviews it looks like the lower than deserved rating is based on mainly two factors. First, people complaining about the old menu (overly fried, “not great” vegan food). Secondly, vegans who feel slighted by the shift to meat and dairy options on the menu. I want to give a more up to date take that factors in the current menu from an omnivore’s perspective.
I live nearby and had walked by this place for months several times per week. Despite the fun atmosphere in the patio and the cool looking home turned restaurant, I heard that it was a vegan restaurant and subconsciously wrote it off. It was then brought to my attention that they added some non-vegan options to the menu. Intrigued by the location, I decided to dip my toe in by going for breakfast. It was very good! Went with three others so was able to try the breakfast sandwich, breakfast burrito, French toast and fried chicken sandwich. None disappointed! I went back and had the burger which was also good. I haven’t tried the beer or cocktails but others in my group had positive things to say. Would highly recommend this place for the food and ambiance. Also looks like a great place for HH and drinks out on the covered patio. Don’t be scared by the meh start rating.
Not much space, full bar menue, limited food menue and tight seating area.
Came to Vancouver to visit some friends, and am so happy we decided on this place!! Was pleasantly surprised to find a decent amount of vegan food, as the only vegetarian in the group, and my non drinker friends were stoked that they had just as good mocktail options using NA alcohol as they did cocktails. There was something for everyone in the group! Prices are a little steep, but the cocktails are priced extremely fairly and my vegan chickpea sandwhich was amazing. Definitely reccomend, nice place to sit outside on a sunny day. My only regret is i never came to this place when i lived across the street from it, when they had an all vegan menu. Will be coming back when im in the area! Service was great as well.
Reccomend: The Fool cocktail.
My husband and I have been coming to 3 Howls Remedy House since it first opened in early 2024. I'm plant-based, and my husband is a meat eater with a dairy allergy—so the original plant-based menu worked for us.
The new menu, introduced in March 2025, now includes both plant-based and meat options, which we fully support. We appreciate that 3 Howls is adapting to stay sustainable while creating a space where everyone can find something to enjoy!
The updated menu feels more refined and elevated. I tried the cauliflower steak recently, it was absolutely amazing and a wonderful addition to their menu.
The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. The staff always remember us, even our drink order, which makes every visit feel extra special. That kind of care and consistency goes a long way.
It’s rare to find a spot that caters to both of our dietary needs without compromise. We’ll absolutely keep coming back and supporting this gem in our community.
