I've been here several times now, typically for the bands, as it is a pretty good venue. Last night arrived early enough and had the chicken fried steak for dinner. It was pretty good and the gravy was excellent, because gravy makes the dish. The server was quick and attentive and prices are reasonable. Then I was to sit back and watch Generator play on stage and watched people dance and have a good time. The people are friendly too.

I ate here tonight with my dad. To start with the pluses, the service was quick, friendly and efficient, no complaints there. The venue was clean, dimly lit but that fits with the blues vibe. There is a live sound stage, the facility is easily handicap accessible if you have someone to help with the front door. But the bad, was the food. And it was mostly really bad. I had the Halibut fish and chips with clam chowder and a side of brussle sprouts, and a strawberry lemonade. The brussle sprouts were ok, the larger ones were not cooked through. And there was a ton of balsamic sauce, not much parmesan and no bacon bits to cut the acid of the vinegar. Slicing the brussle sprouts in half and a few many tweaks like gradys or brush prarie tavern make them would have went a long way here. The clam chowder was tasty and the best part of the dinner, but we both found and had to spit out multiple inedible bay leaves. The worst part though was the fish and chips. It was supposedly halibut, which i question. It was extremely overcooked to the point the fish was dry and jerkylike. The fish batter was almost burnt, and had not been salted. It was a deep dark brown. The fries were also very, very, very well done, as in way overcooked. The sourdough toast was kind of doughlike and not to my tastes, but the seasoning was good. Maybe it was a new chef or an off night. But I will likely never eat here again. My dad said his food was in a similar state. The strawberry lemonade were OK, a bit too sweet but drinkable.

Came here today to celebrate 44 year anniversary. Some of the best food in town. Great service and when the weather is nice, it is a must to enjoy food and drink on their patio.
