I’ve been a loyal customer of this restaurant, regularly ordering large pizzas and eventually earning a free one through their rewards program. However, when I picked up my order recently, I had a disappointing experience.
As I arrived, one of the employees repeatedly said to his coworker, “There was no tip and he even got the free pizza,” loudly enough that it felt intentionally directed at me. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional. I explained that I normally leave a generous tip when I dine in, but I don’t believe tipping is necessary when I personally drive to the restaurant and pick up my order.
Yes, the pizza was free, but only because I earned it after ordering more than ten pizzas. It wasn’t a handout; it was a reward for being a frequent customer. I don’t appreciate being treated like I’m taking advantage of something, especially when I’ve supported this business over and over.
I understand tipping culture is changing, but I don’t think it justifies making a loyal customer feel uncomfortable for not tipping on a carryout order. This experience left a bad taste, and not because of the pizza.
We've eaten Blind Onion (164th location) for a few years. We used to love it for our weekly pizza night, but the last couple months the pizza has been under prepared. Not sure if they've hired new cooks or what..
I hope they address this.
The people working there are amazing!
Food, AMAZING!
The entire staff was completely unfriendly and seemed bothered by anything and everything.
Very good pizza. Love the crust!
Most excellent 👌
Was told an hour for a take out order and showed up an hour later for my food and waited over 30 minutes in the pretty much empty lobby with all the employees just walking around.

Couple of pizzas, cheese for the kids, vegetarian for the adults. Very yummy. Crust on the veggie was perfect. Cheese pizza was tasty but pizza crust could of been a tiny bit more done. Will grab some again when I am in town.

Great crust and toppings ratio. We always enjoy this pizza. Could use more staff and cost is about $30/pizza. No gluten free options.
