What are coffee shops other than a space for community? There are many other aspects of these places that altogether build an edifice wherein the whole is larger than the parts.

From the comfort of the chairs and noise level to the quality of the coffee and the freshness of the baked goods. All of these things are part of a mosaic, the elements of music. Take one of those things away and what is left is incomplete a mere branch on which the hummingbird rests for a moment and then moves on in its wild journey of migration.

When all of those aspects are in harmony, when the needles all point north, or the last puzzle piece placed, you have this organic creation called community.

A place where a subtle magic has settled into the very walls of an establishment. A place where community grows. These are the places where conversations and philosophies perk along like coffee and where people can feel safe for just a brief moment in these crazy times.

Even the name Cupidone refers to this, The generous spirit of Cupid, The place of warm-hearted indulgence. It speaks of, a place where affection lives.

The owner is a direct and kind man, rooted in the soil of pride and accomplishment. He appears honest and straight forward and the community here is safe in his hands. I did however mention politics (absolutely my mistake) and I immediately felt a chilling of the atmosphere as if some had left a window open and a cold wind had snuck in. As I say, it was my fault and I was sorry to lose even a small portion of the welcome I felt on coming in.

At the top of the hierarchy of parts was the coffee mocha I had, which was perfect. I could taste the skill of the owner and the quality of his coffee. It erupted out of the chocolate like emotion erupts from a beautiful piece of music.
There is an immediate presence of roasting and choice that enhances the chocolate, rather than the other way around.

I think that many places will use an inferior bean because they think it is covered by the chocolate. This same philosophy exists in tea where a flavored tea rarely has quality leaves.

So, Cupidone has put together a sanctuary. A place for friends to meet, papers to be written, heartbreaks to be shared.

It is, to be exact, a place that makes community and therefore a place that should be treasured and supported.

Stumbled upon this place when searching for bubble tea. They have many blended and iced/hot milk tea options. Got the coconut and my friend the classic milk tea we both loved our drinks. For sure will be back to try some other drinks.
