The staff was friendly and personable. Hooked us up with an off menu option we had heard about (lived up to the hype) consome was delicious. The empanadas were great. I'm definitely going to be coming back. Can't wait for the second location to open closer to home.

Lived in the Southwest for over a decade. Have eaten Mexican food from home-cooking to high-end restaurants in El Paso & Old Mesilla, Albuquerque, etc. Have NEVER eaten better Mexican cuisine. Two sisters in Phoenix had a little place years ago that is the only equal to the food served here that my husband remembers.Be sure to try my favs, oyster tacos & mahi mahi torta...best when the owner or his wife are doing the cooking. Delectable! Birria is my guy's fav.Ordered up for a family gathering of kids and grandkids. Big hit!

Recommended by a friend while we were visiting the area. Has a covered outdoor dining area and good food. Its hidden a bit in an auto parking lot so you have to look for it.Kiddo enjoyed it enough he asked to come back the next day. His favorite was the cajun shrimp tacos while I preferred the Mahi tacos. My friend likes the quesabirria (sp?). The burritos are HUGE.

Seriously delicious food, this is the only place you need to consider for Mexican. Bonus feature is they are right next to a micro brewery called Vice and you can get their delicious beers to pair with your tacos. Win-win.

We tried several different kinds of the meat tacos. Everything tasted very fresh and was perfectly cooked. The tacos were generously filled with meat and toppings. We definitely will be coming back ?

El Viejon is a quality Mexican food truck. I get the impression that they want to position themselves as top shelf. Their ingredients are top-notch. They have a broader range of tacos in any truck that I've seen. They specialize in fish tacos. But they have plenty of beef, pork and chicken as well. The gal who took my order was very friendly, sharp and spoke perfect English. Her Spanish seemed on point as well. My impression is that she's too savvy to be just an employee and likely the owner or owner's daughter/wife. Regardless, she represented the business very well. I tried three tacos: carne asada, al pastor and qusabirria. The latter was a bit different and my favorite of the three. It came with a dipping sauce. The concept seemed like a French dip. It was a kind of oily water dip with bits and pieces of cilantro and other goodies. I wasn't a big fan of it. All the tacos lacked salt for my pallet. They have three salsa choices: Verde, rojo and habanero. I went with habanero. It's rather creamy and not super spicy. If I were to go again, I would try one of the others. The truck is next door to vice beer and have a relationship with them. You can sit inside their brewery there's also an outside patio. I liked my food but it's rather expensive. In fact, they raised their prices the day before. The carna asada and al pastor for $4 each. The qusabirria was a whopping $5! My three tacos were $14.30. To be fair, each taco was a good size. The truck is in a very packed industrial park. Parking can be a challenge. Check out my profile for more great eateries in craft cocktail bars. ✌?
