The new place just isn't the same as the old pauls and elbow room unfortunately super overpriced 10$+ tax for a well whiskey lightly poured maybe half of what old elbowroom did for 5$. It does look alright inside wish they had a pinball machine still though its kinda a quiet place now.

Went in for drinks early on a Saturday. The cocktails were phenomenal! The bartender, I did not get her name, was skilled and knowledgeable! I also had the chance to chat with a guy who I'm guessing may have been the owner or something. He gave me some excellent advice on my home cocktails based on my preferences. Already planning my next visit and bringing friends with me!

Under the new owners this is my favorite place anywhere. The renovation is amazing, and the vibes are immaculate. You sit down and and you feel like you're in an episode of Cheers. They've put such effort into the new menu and it really shows, both food and cocktails are absolutely A+, but above all the atmosphere is just out of this world. It genuinely feels like an idyllic stereotype of a 70's dive bar in all the best ways possible.
I've only been a few times and I'm already a regular, all the bartenders know my name, the owners are around and talk to customers about what's going on and what they've done with the place. The bartenders are amazing and friendly. Jared and Amanda in particular are some of the most obviously experienced and deeply knowledgeable bartenders I've had the pleasure of speaking with, but all the bartenders are amazing.
It's absolutely my favorite bar that I've ever been to, part of me didn't want to write a review to keep it secret, but they deserve every bit of attention they can get.

Food was fabulous, service was fabulous, thank you Amanda was fabulous, service with a smile, bloody Mary's was excellent.
Tater tots with gravy. Life doesn’t get much better than this! Zola served the most spectacular gin and tonic after a lengthy conversation about my gin preferences. She clearly takes pride in her skills ‘cuz….damn…it was a good! Jared’s running a top notch local watering hole like a champ.

Welp, there goes another legendary dive bar down the tubes. It's so sad to me (and I'm sure the regulars) to see this turned into a hipster bar. It was a perfect 70s DIVE bar, where you could day drink (there were ALWAYS people in there), make new friends, and get sloshed for 12 dollars. I loved it. It was what you wanted in a old school neighborhood hangout. Now, the same entrance greets you but when you come in, it's subtle changes made a big difference. There's a gigantic pair of bull horns behind the bar (I wouldn't want to meet anything that had that on their head), making it look very Burnside Matador-ish, and wee table lamps in the middle of the tables. The people that were working there we're definitely not Paul's/Elbow Room originals, nor did they know how to make a drink. We go here for strong drinks, not for a 21 year old trying to figure out the soda gun, and half of your gin ending up on the mat. No. We also don't come here to order a gin and tonic that was all tonic, and then receive a bill of 14 dollars. 14 dollars for one well gin and tonic. I may have given it the benefit of the doubt, and gone back, but oh my God! That's like concert prices. I'd really love to know what the locals have to say about this. They're probably missing their day drinking neighbors.

Jared and Zola are amazing bartenders. This place has the kind of unique atmosphere that can only be appreciated and never cultivated. It should be a part of everyone's downtown routine

The new Elbow Room is everything you could want in a true dive bar restoration: heavy on the pours and light on the renovations.
We’ve walked here a few times since the new owners took over and have left perfectly satiated every time. To start, the vibe is quintessential 70s—complete with a killer playlist on vinyl and groovy swag lamps accented by vintage wall kitsch.
Drinks are original and mostly pre-batched, but of course they have the usual selection of spirits to create whatever concoction is needed to fill the void. The freezer door martinis and manhattans are killer in every sense of the word (you’ve been warned).
Food menu is fairly limited but homey and delicious. When we last visited, the tots were cooked to crispy perfection and the grilled cheese dipped in the tomato soup fulfilled a nostalgic base need. Now, the real question is: Can one hope for some equally warming late night desert night in the future?
Give it time and this will become THE spot in Uptown for those know how to hang and love a good vibe. Check it out now before the word gets out (and I may even just delete this review…)

Amazing atmosphere with a 1970 Chic look. The two bartenders, Jared and Brandon created such amazing and friendly atmosphere. To be honest, with this new bar opening the other bars around town should be watching the back because I know I'll be a lifetime returning customer. Whether it's a small gathering or a simple night out, you are guaranteed to have a wonderful time at this bar.

Don’t really want to leave this review because I don’t want to fight to get a spot at the bar. But by god they deserve it.
