The Elbow Room is a bar inside Paul’s restaurant downtown Vancouver. It has a 1970's dive bar vibe. The joint looks like it could have been in an episode of Barreta or The Rockford Files. Usually a place that looks this dated has mediocre drinks made with bargain basement ingredients but if you’re savvy, you’ll discover that the self-deprecating bartender manager is actually cloaking his superpowers. The new place just isn't the same as the old pauls and elbow room unfortunately super overpriced 10$+ tax for a well whiskey lightly poured maybe half of what old elbowroom did for 5$. It does look alright inside wish they had a pinball machine still though its kinda a quiet place now.

Went in for drinks early on a Saturday. The cocktails were phenomenal! The bartender, I did not get her name, was skilled and knowledgeable! I also had the chance to chat with a guy who I'm guessing may have been the owner or something. He gave me some excellent advice on my home cocktails based on my preferences. Already planning my next visit and bringing friends with me!
