Buffet food, mmm, quality stuff. excellent spot to spend time alone or talk business. the service here is better than most. the bill was appropriate for the quality.
I went on Christmas as it was the one of the only places open today, and had a few plates. The best thing was easily the fried chicken (though the fired skin was rather bland). Contrastly, the grilled chicken was horrid though the grilled skin with seasonings was quite tasty.
This restaurant was THE place to eat many years ago when I was a kid. The place was ALWAYS busy and the food was delicious in all aspects. Sadly, HomeTown at this location had been going downhill over the last few years. The food was was not up to par and borderline disgusting (Soggy meatloaf, raw chicken, dry and starchy side dishes). I decided to give them a chance after golden corral opened hoping they had stepped up their game but unfortunately, they did not. I ended up not eating half of what I put on my plate and left. Such a shame because I really liked the older waitress lady who I believe had been there for a long time. She was always extremely sweet and good with customers. I feel bad for her knowing that she probably received many complaints regarding the quality of the food and I'm sure it's challenging being a server when you can't take pride in what the "cooks" are making. This location is closed now and I can't say I didn't see this coming. It had gotten to the point where very few people would actually eat there compared to its glory days. Sad because I have many childhood memories there
Because good food there they got such a wide variety of food to choose from that's one thing I like is a wide variety and the desserts to yummy
I love food and service here. But I am so sorry to say goodbye to them. I hope they gonna open again somewhere.
Well customer service is great...but the food is not.. Food is very dry like its been sitting for a while. For the price we paid for our family food should have been better. This is the second chance we gave and i dont think we will return.
This is my absolute favorite place to go when we are in the area. A buffet full of great food, soups, salads, and desserts. Who doesn't love all you can eat right?
We had been frequent guests up until 2 yrs ago. At that time the food started looking tire and it all tasted the same. While the staff was efficient & pleasant, there was this omnipresent feeling. Hard to explain. Fast forward to Golden Corral - sorry but I wouldn't take my dog there. We went back to HTB and what a pleasant surprise. Food tastes much better, it was cleaner and felt lots more comfortable. I know this is a long post but I felt the info and comparison was important.
The food here is pretty ok, what you'd expect from a Hometown. The steak isn't half bad.
This place needs a remodel. Every surface in there floors ceiling carpet is permeated with fish stank. The air and cook top filters need changed. The kitchen staff needs a visit from the health department to talk about the danger zone temperatures.

First time here and seeing the buffet from the register it looked promising. The joke was really on us. Where does one start. The cashier was very friendly and chatty. We were given a military discount on a Sunday, when we thought they only did it on Monday(as per the sign out front). None of the food was hot or fresh. We have never had cornbread stuffing that was just crumbly and falling apart. The chicken was over done tough and not even warm, who wants cold french fries?! The best thing for us was the zucchini. Even the salad bar was not up to what we like. The romaine looked like it had seen better days. The carving station never had any one in it while we went up. The rolls were flat. The dessert station had items on it that looked like they were past the shelf life. The cheesecake was overly salty. Even the apple crisp was brought out fresh but the looks were very deceiving as it is was cold and not warm. It was like the warming portion of all the stations was not working. You could see heat coming up but nothing was hot or even warm, very sad. Watched an employee clean up at the food stations with a rag that was constantly touching all the food, NOT a good sign for us. The bathrooms were not up to standards. We have NEVER been to a buffet where the wait person only just took up the dirty dishes. WE were never asked how our meal was, offered any refills on our drinks(NOTHING). In fact our waitperson was too busy constantly carrying on a conversation with with other workers. Golden Corral is nearby and they at least usually have HOT FRESH FRIED CHICKEN and DANG GOOD DINNER ROLLS. This was our first trip and our last. We love salad bars mainly well we came, we saw and we just won't be back! There is just too much competition out there to waste money on food that is not good!
Good price good service I know this restaurant for long time
This Hometown Restaurant has improved 100% from my last review about 6 months ago. We've frequented Hometown Buffets all over the US and have seen a decline in quality over the years. However, with Mr. Ming's new management, this Hometown has improved tremendously! Their food is now very fresh and the restaurant is very clean and welcoming. Best of all, the fried chicken is prepared frequently enough to keep it juicy and fresh, unlike before. Give them a try and you will be amazed!!
A real improvement since we stopped coming over a year ago. They still charge 2.50 for a senior lunch beverage on top of the senior meal price. They still need to do better for all honored citizens. The huge improvement was in the atmosphere and staff performance. They are now friendly, helpful, and attentive. The food quality is vastly proved. I enjoyed my meal.
Normal priced they didn't even have even the buff a full of food we waited over an hour for the Orange chicken and for 3 different dessert pains to be filled they never did get filled even after we asked two workers. Our waitress was extremely nice she kept our tables nice and tidy
