Kenji's is really hopping for a joint that's slightly out of the way. You're lucky to get a table without a reservation. The staff are in constant motion. The food and service is superb for a ramen restaurant. I like the Gyoza, which is a pot sticker/dumpling thing. My wife love the Kenji's Ramen. I like the Kaizen Ramen. It's plenty of food. Check out my profile for more great eateries and craft cocktail bars. -VanPort Insider

I have been coming here since the day they opened years ago. I’ve always had the greatest time and it’s a place I regularly recommend to my friends. I went in there yesterday after not visiting for a wile and had the most phenomenal experience ever there. I’d hard they were making changes and I ended up chatting with one of the managers, Cody, about them. He told me how they were expanding the restaurant and how he was striving to make Kenji’s better than ever. I order a Kenji’s ramen every time I go and the changes he has made to the dish made it even better than all the previous years I’ve had it. I am truly grateful to meet someone with so much pride in their business and I cannot wait to see them excel as the best ramen place in the Pacific Northwest, if not the world. Thank you again Cody for your phenomenal service, and to the rest of the Kenji’s staff that always make every trip an enjoyable one. Y’all are the best!

Went to Kenji for the first time in four months. Owner has changed. The broth is so sour and gross now. The noodles were not cooked, and the portion has gone down with the price increase. My party of four paid and was asked to leave because there was people waiting. Will never return. It’s sad cause this used to be my favorite ramen place.

came from Salem to try the ramen since the ramen around us is not great and we saw a chef we really like post about this place. we tried it out for my birthday weekend. the karaage was good and what i'd expect. i got a byo ramen and my partner got the couvre. the broth was the best part about both, the noodles were fine, the pork belly? absolutely unexcusably bad. it was SO dried out I literally spit a bit back out. i'll eat just about anything but the belly was so dry!! not fatty at all. not worth the damn drive.
Very busy place but wow service and food is so so good. I got the karai(?) spicy ramen and wow 🤩 so good. Manager is a sweetheart. He Cares so much about the environment and well being of his team

we’ve been coming to kenjis since they first opened and it’s notably changed over the years. The ramen and service we experienced at kenjis today was recognizably SO elevated! The meal I had today was by far the BEST ramen I’ve ever had, and I can’t wait to see what else kenjis has in store! We loved our server who went above and beyond for us and you could tell they truly had a passion for what they were doing! Only come to kenjis if you are looking for the best japanese/korean food in Vancouver ;)

Kenji's was my favorite place to eat since it opened. Their ramen WAS amazing, most notably the one called "The Couve" of which I've ordered every single time over the years of eating there around twice per month with my son and often including a friend.
I went in for my favorite ramen the other day and we were seated by one of our 5-star server's, Joey. We're always glad to see him and he was fantastic as usual.
We ordered our ramen and waited... and waited... While wondering what was taking an abnormally long time to get our food, I was observing the kitchen and noticed cooks that I didn't recognize moving in a really slow manner. It used to take no more than 10 minutes to get our food and this time it took around 25+ minutes. I would have quickly forgotten about that part had I received the same delicious ramen that I've always craved and had ordered for many years but what was placed in front of me appeared completely different.
I ordered the "Couve" and got a disaster. The classic big ramen bowls were replaced with ones that looked kid sized. The broth was reduced substantially, seemingly by half or more along with the flavor. The broth used to be rich and wonderful, now it's fairly weak and bland. The noodles were different, thin and disgusting. The toppings were different. After stirring them in, I took a bite, and it tasted like I got a mouthful of shredded iceberg lettuce (was probably a wad of thin bean sprouts). I ordered a marinated egg and got half. Normally, black sesame oil was drizzled over the top of the ramen and that was absent.
New management has come in, implemented drastic changes, and completely wrecked the Kenji's I loved. I am beyond disappointed and after many years of an amazing ramen experience, I simply have no reason to ever go back unless Kenji's comes back. If that happens, then let me know and I shall return. In the meantime, thankfully I found a newer ramen house ran by some really nice Japanese people and their ramen is authentic and amazing so at least I don't have to go without good ramen.
Kenji's, I will truly miss you ... the old you ... May we meet again.

Kenji's Japanese Ramen 🍜, nice atmosphere and decor. A little small in space but the place feels big but there about to tear down the far wall and expand at the beginning of 2025. There authentic Japanese Ramen is amazing. I had there Naruto Bowl and it was delicious. They also offer 10% military discount. I will definitely be returning in the distant future. This place is located two buildings down from Raising Cane's in Vancouver, next door to the Applebee's.

My family always goes to Kenjis for ramen. They truly never disappoint. Was a little nervous about the menu changes, but they were good! Very happy they brought the build your own ramen bowl back becuase that was the main reason we would go. Waiter was fast and attentive. We will always be back! One thing they did change was the size of the ramen bowls. Wish they were a little bigger just so it's easier to sip the broth.

Tony was a great server. Just the right amount of attention and opinion—he read our table so well and as a cook, it’s the service to me that counts. Joey slinging it in the kitchen and bar was great. The kids loved the food as much as the adults. Good value good food great service.
Vegetarian options: Miso veggie ramen hits the spot
Kid-friendliness: Informal atmosphere—it’s not fine dining but you still feel like you are in a restaurant and not just take out. Fun graphics on the wall.

Excellent customer service from the GM Josh.
My family and I, arrived when they were slammed packed and our initial server really did not provide us a welcoming experience. Which is somewhat understandable as they we’re extremely busy, but once Josh got involved he did his best to accommodate and assure we have a great visit. Food was fantastic but because of Josh and his exceptional leadership, we will definitely be back!
Great Job, the hospitality business is tough but it’s good to know there are still leaders who prioritize customer satisfaction.
