La Bottega Cafe Deli Wine Shop

I can begin to say how amazing this restaurant is!!! The food is always cooked to perfection, the wine deals are great, even the tea and table breads… 🤌🏼 delicious! 10/10 would recommend!

I discovered this place a couple of years ago and I keep going back. Every dish that I've had their it's amazing but my absolute favorite is the smoked mushroom ravioli.
I typically pair it with a nice red wine based on server recommendations and I've never been let down.
Their food is the best in all of Vancouver by far and is my favorite that I've found anywhere in the state of Washington.
I just went there this evening with my fiance for a date night and she thought it was amazing.

Update April2022-----One more time , another excellent lunch.
I have been here several times and have never been disappointed! Walking into La Bottega , you sense a relaxed but professional vibe.( look for the knife puncturing and nailing the permit on the wall!!!--haha) I have seen several employees working here for a least a few years---a great sign , especially during these trying Covid times.
La Bottega is unique in that it is a restaurant and also a mini up-scale deli with a nice assortment of imported foods and wines. They also sell a selection of foods produced in-house as well.
The food also has never disappointed.............and today was no exception.
The Prawn app was excellent.......tasty, spicy and perfectly balanced in flavors. The arugula salad was the perfect accompaniment to the smoked mushroom ravioli , a dish I have ordered several times on previous visits.
La Bottega also seems to have a decent takeout clientele as well. While sitting there, I observed at least a half a dozen takeout orders being picked up and this was mid-afternoon.
Final take --of course GO!

The desserts here are excellent. I have had the cannoli and the tiramisu and both were some of the best I have had.

The proscuitto is very disappointing. I order items from the deli to take home. I have ordered the proscuitto here twice. It is always piled on top and packaged such that you end up with an unappealing, stuck together wad of meat instead of sliced onto plastic sheets to separate the pieces. Unsure if it's the person working or an unbalanced slicer, but there are some very thick pieces of proscuitto that come out. It seems like maybe the balance because the proscuitto will be thick on one side and falling apart thin on the opposite. I cannot eat the fat on these unbalanced pieces because it's so thick you cannot chew through it easily.

Finally, to add insult to injury, the cashier hands you your receipt at the deli and suggests the top is their copy. As in, they want a tip. At a deli. For slicing you meat. I get that it's the same receipt as the restaurant, but it always rubs me wrong that they want a tip.

I was hoping to have a local source of proscuitto but will have to keep looking. I was burned twice here.

Really excellent Italian food! This was the best Italian food I’ve had since I was in Italy. They also have pasta, sauces, meat, cheese, and sides to buy- like a normal market. Would recommend getting a reservation before going. It gets pretty crowded and there isn’t a huge space to wait in. We needed a table for 2 and had to wait about 15 minutes.

A favorite Vancouver restaurant with a charming atmosphere, surrounded by bottles of wine and deli/market delights! And the food and service is outstanding. We recently dined there on a Tuesday night and took advantage of their weekly wine bottle discounts. The lasagna was amazing, as was as the spaghetti and meatballs. Always a great date night!! Highly recommend!!
