Great spot for a variety of brewed drinks with lots of plant-based milks. A few food offerings but limited. There are also a TON of plants inside, which is pretty cool.
This is my absolute favorite coffee shop in Vancouver. Great staff who are always friendly and welcoming. The bakery goods are top notch and the hot items (especially the breakfast burrito and egg sando) are the best you'll find in the city.

The coffee here is so delicious! I didn't do food but it also looked good. I did a vanilla latte that was the perfect amount of vanilla and the coffee was smooth. I would definitely come here again if in the area!

Write more letters to the ones you love. And do it while drinking beautiful coffee drinks and delicious handmade treats from River Maiden. The orange mocha is unreal good, and the latte art is so beautiful I don't want to disturb it. My cup is full this morning!

I’m kind of a picky eater so I didn’t try any of their menu items but saw the size of the sandwiches and listened to the people in the table next to me raving about how good they were. I did get a muffin that was top notch!!! Frappe was good too. The service was a little lacking but they were busy. The inside is cozy and full of plants that make it feel like you’ve stepped into another world.

Fresh, delicious, in-house-made, made-to-order, brunch-fare that will keep you coming back! Breakfast sammies, burritos, toasts, bowls, pastries, cookies, coffee, matcha & more! The fluffy, buttery scrambled eggs are truly my fave!! Gluten-free & vegan options are available as well. My family has been frequenting River Maiden for at least a couple of years now. The dining area has a chill & cozy vibe with a plethora of houseplants - honestly makes me feel like I’m at home. Owner, Melissa, is a kind & down-to-earth human that really has a passion for her business & it’s people. She has cultivated a culture that is unmatched & it shows in the loyalty of her staff. Melissa, Mark, Jacob, Jon, Espe, Emma, Anna, Carter, Ripley, Micah, & all the rest of the crew - we enjoy seeing you all! Thank you for always being so friendly & attentive! See ya next week! ;)

I think we might have caught them on a busy day — they were preparing for a plant sale, so there were plants everywhere, which made it a bit tricky to get around and find a comfortable spot. Parking was limited, and the shop was very crowded and loud. My Americano had a slightly unusual taste, and my daughter didn’t enjoy her drink either since they were out of regular chocolate and had to use dark chocolate syrup. Aside from taking our order, no one checked in on us, which can happen at busy coffee shops.
That said, I can tell this was just a circumstantial day. On a quieter day, there’s plenty of parking, seating is more comfortable, and I’m sure the drinks and service would be better. I’m not scoring them too harshly — I’d be willing to give River Maiden another try when it’s not so hectic.

Though a bit pricey, they have such good vegetarian options! If you're looking for a unique breakfast treat, try them.

I tried calling River Maiden (opens at 7:30) on the way, but there was only a recording telling me to order on the website—which isn’t an option while driving. They have a good-sized parking lot. I ordered their Egg Sando with Bacon. Side note: I asked for a printed receipt and was told, “We don’t print receipts here.”
The ciabatta was good, the eggs were a quality scramble, and the bacon was flavorful without a lot of fat like fast-food bacon. Neither the menu nor the emailed receipt mentioned what kind of cheese was used, but whatever it was, it did the job.
River Maiden’s scramble is more gourmet—but that also makes it prone to droppings. You definitely need a plate underneath it. Cost before tip: $11.42. -VanPort Insider
