Great little spot by the water. Mainly bar type of food, however, there are some items on the menu that are a little better. Clams are

So disappointed, brought three of my girlfriends after being here several years ago and had a good experience. Love to look for "hidden gems" in Vancouver wanted to share this this place. Parking is difficult and am currently handicapped but not even that could bring me closer to the entrance. Once seated, our server who I later noticed was someone I knew from another long established Vancouver restaurant. Simply put, she was awesome but also 1 of only two servers in the restaurant. The kitchen was an "open feature" which shouldn't have been because the staff was inappropriately dressed for cooking (tank top) and worst of all no ventilation and left there wreaking of fried food, had to come home and shower! We ordered appetizers to share, yes people appetizers...and an hour and a half later we got most of them. The steak bites were more like steal bits but did have good flavor, however why ask how would you like the done? We asked for medium rare but not even an option with size of the "bits" Final disappointment was the wine, quality average, wine stems cheap, small and pours probably less than half at most restaurants for $7.50 a glass. We will not be back, sorry but your lack of customer service, food quality, kitchen staff, ventilation and not providing a detailed receipt is just unacceptable.Parking: Designations are unclear and not enough handicapped parking

You know that feeling when you open up the box of cracker jacks and there is no prize inside? Or that envelope from grandma on Christmas and there is no five dollar bill? That sense of disappointment? That hollow feeling? Well that’s the feeling I got When I arrived at Shorewood market and Café. I had been looking forward trying this for months ever since I first heard about it, but schedules and circumstances never seemed quite right, the celestial forces always just a tad off. Finally as I finished an appointment in south Portland, weary to the bone and faint with hunger, I thought, you know… this would a perfect time to try Shorewood Market and Cafe. The timing will be perfect, they open at 4:00, it will take me just about that much time to get there. I double check their google listing. Yup! They’ll be open by time I arrive!!! I’m so excited. They are closed. Well generally I would not leave a negative review for a restaurant that was closed due to renovations. Even one that evidently has gone on for much longer than they expected, but they need to update their google listing. And beyond that it would be really nice if they at least put up a sign in their window saying something about something. Instead of leaving an old man wandering around a strange area feeling like a lost unwelcome trespasser. I suppose I will update this review if and when they ever actually re-open this place. It has all right aspects of being one of those perfect legends. A hidden gem. A secret local treasure hidden in the mists spoken of in whispers, but it has to reopen first.

Great food. Don't be in a hurry to eat, though. But worth every second of waiting!

We came in for dinner. Parking was fine. Walked in, found a table, sat down and waited. The chef brought us water while we waited. We had no menus so i asked an individual that was at the next table if we could see her menu. We got them and the waitress stood in the middle of the dining room and said very loudly that it was rude of me to steal another persons menu!. She then proceeded to take the orders for 2 tables that arrived after us. When confronted she said have a nice day and stay safe. Needless to say we will never be back. I realize catering to the residents is important but we were there about once a month. As i said never again..

Good food if you can get waited on. We rarely have good service there. Don't go unless you have lots of time. We gave up last time. Walked out after smart remarks from wait staff.
