One of the two best places in Washougal to eat. (The other directly across the street with a different fare.) This is kind of a general review for Alex's; hopefully to encourage people to help keep our community's very best places afloat during this terribly challenging time. Alex's is great on so many levels. I've had nothing but excellent food there...and try to branch out in my selections as I have a habit of ordering the same delicious thing over and over. The atmosphere is laid back, one feels like he or she is "coming home" upon entering and the beer...a large range of changing micros...all just fabulous! So this evening I'll be ordering pick-up (easy roll up to the curb outside). Ok, Ok, it WILL be the ribs again, but maybe I'll change up the sides.

I really wanted to like this place as it's the closest to my house but the brisket was dried out, tasteless and totally debit of any smoke flavor. On top of the meat likely to try and add some flavor was an odd tasting gravy that was nothing like bbq sauce although I can not say what the sauce actually tasted of. I was asked part way through if everything was good and I responded fine, on the drive home I realised I should of said it was disappointing. The coleslaw was ok and the veggies under seasoned. The bread roll was ok but seemed like it was just store bought.

We were headed to 50 40 Brewing in Washougal but they closed for President Day so we found this place. The BLT and Smoked Turkey Sandwich was great. I’m not big on coleslaw but this was very good. I had Oatmeal Stout and my wife had an IPA, the were from Logsdon Farmhouse Ales, also very good!

Raspberry and plumb sour ales. Exceptional. If you have a chance, this place is the bomb. Next level awesomeness. Calling beer snobs, this place is where you want to be. Seriously. This the real deal. The smoked brisket I wanted to ding it for the rather high price but I have to say it's the best BBQ I've had since moving from KC. Update. 2/15/20. We had the Kriek Vier,Suburban Kriek and the Seizoen Bretta. Wow. There is something special going on here. Do yourself a favor and try these. The crab/artichoke ravioli special was excellent. This is the bomb. It's worth a trip.

The best bar food I've had so far. Not the typical fried food and cardboard pizza. A great place to meet with friends. It was spacious and has plenty of parking. What made me wanting to go back was the vegetarian options on the menu. I enjoyed the chili and shrimp ceviche. My husband enjoyed his beer and chicken wings. The place was moderately busy but food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The staff were busy but accommodating and helpful. We will definitely not mind driving from Vancouver to here to enjoy their beer and food. Go try this place out it will not disappoint!

Took a Friend to lunch here. I had the Smoked Rib Platter. The ribs were Good and the Slaw was Very Good. I was not impressed with the mac & cheese. It was a day old or older covered with a huge amount of cheddar to mask the look of it. It was dry and over cooked. My Friend had the Roasted Chicken Sandwich and she Really liked it all. I have been here when they had the Salmon Fettichini and it is Amazing! They have a Great menu for beers and ciders. I Really like this place.

We have come to this bar/restaurant several times since the new ownership took over. Lat night we had a "front row seat" for the annual Christmas parade in Downtown Washougal. We got to enjoy a beer, fantastic mac and cheese (with bacon!) The place was full but we got there early enough to have a choice table. The service was excellent on a busy night and the food serve hot and delicious. Had the English stout to go with my entree and it was a filling meal.

Wow I've not had good BBQ brisket since I left Texas. No knife needed! We also had the special which was a carnitas bowl which had some great southern flavors not the bland PNW Hispanic food you find normally. The food here is really great!

Stopped in here on a whim a couple of days ago on the way home from a bike ride, ended up going back the next day after a hike because it was so good. You can tell Alex actually gives a s*** about the food he's serving as it's above average and quite good. Pair that with the logsden beers and this place is a hit!

Just enjoyed the brisket, literally fell apart it was so tender! The ceviche was both pleasantly spicy and tasty! Shared them both with a nice cider and an IPA, very nice evening out!

We had dinner here while visiting the area. I had the vegetarian chili with cornbread while my husband had the rib platter. Both were delicious. Portions were generous. We are not drinkers so instead of beer we had the lemonade which was very good. Very friendly staff. Clean restaurant and homey atmosphere. We would definitely come again if we are ever in the area again.
