The river floating restaurant had a living view and indoor vibe. I went on a day of flooding, so the place seemed to be moving quite a bit with the ways. I’m not sure if that’s normal for this location, as I’ve only been once. But if moving side to side while eating and drinking will make you feel some type of way, this spot isn’t for you. I got a canned kombucha and salad, which was 30$ before tip. The waitress was very attentive and friendly.

4 stars for the view and drinks alone, but service was not too friendly. On a beautiful sunny fall day, we called ahead to see if the outdoor seating was open. we wanted to enjoy outside with our dog. But the server appeared annoyed with serving us especially when my husband asked about the bathroom. But the sunset views and weather was great as well as thr drinks!

My recent visit to Puffin Café left me with mixed feelings, while the location and riverfront views were beautiful, the food experience didn’t quite measure up to expectations.
I ordered both the halibut fish tacos and the halibut fish and chips. The tacos were underwhelming, underdressed and topped with little more than basic lettuce and cheese. They lacked the fresh, vibrant elements that typically make fish tacos pop. I had to ask for pico de gallo just to bring some life to the dish. The blackberry dressing on the side was my least favorite part of the plate; it felt out of place and didn’t complement the meal. A simple wedge of lime or lemon could’ve gone a long way in balancing the flavors and adding contrast.
The fish and chips were better, the halibut was cooked well and had good texture, but again, no lemon was provided. The tartar sauce was disappointing and tasted more like plain mayonnaise than a true tartar.
Customer service was decent, nothing remarkable but generally attentive. Overall, it’s clear that the main attraction at Puffin Café is its location and scenic views of the Washougal waterfront. The setting is ideal for a relaxed drink or casual hangout, but if you’re coming specifically for standout seafood, you might leave wanting more.

Good stop for simple island themed fare washed down with a pint or a Margarita. Boat docks available. Difficult for handicap access.

I like Puffin Cafe and the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is they don't use seperate fry oil for non-seafood items like fries, fried okra etc. And I'm allergic to scallops. Found out the hard way.

Sat outside by hostess at a cute 2 person table, no water or waitress came around so I went to ask. Owner accused us of seating ourselves. Extremely rude, made that unfounded assumption. We won’t be back. I was a server in college for years, I know how demanding the work is. Instead of politely asking she made up for the lack of service by blaming me. What a disappointment! Hostess confirmed that was the owner.

We opted for Puffin Cafe instead of Island Cafe for lunch while boating on the columbia and they did not disappoint. The burgers were amazing and service was quick despite how busy it was. I will definitely be back.
