45 minute wait to deliver our food (they weren’t busy) and they forgot the kids pb&j - which was $8! What kind of burger and sandwich shop doesn’t have fries? Food was just okay, but the service was, though friendly, incredibly slow and inattentive. We won’t be returning.

The biscuits and gravy were not flavorful at all. Service was good. My kiddos enjoyed the strawberry waffle.

I guess they're under new management? Rubbery chicken fried steak and 'meh' hashbrowns. Wait staff was obviously short -handed and made the rounds nonetheless!

The King Tide is now under new ownership and named the Slippery Deck. Best breakfast that I've found in Westport. They open early too. Good grub!

I've been to the kings tide before. Liked it. Now it the slippery deck and I'd recommend anywhere else in westport that's open. Or like my wife said.... I'd have rather stayed home and had top reman. Yikes
Edit: My first impression of this new spot in the block was actually really posistive and that was about it. Took well over an hour to get food, the only table in the house (6 top) ordered right before us. 15 minutes their food is out. 45 more minutes go by and we still didn't have soup or appetizers. over an hour and I'm about to walk out with my pregnant wife and 6 year old. However, my wife is an absolute sweet heart and gave them the benefit of the doubt. Dinner finally comes and the soups are cold after, i asked for a cup of warm cowder to go since i had already dumped in my crackers and litterally got my cold cup of soup dumped in a to-go cup. grilled cheese was warmish and totally unmelted cheese. only good thing about the burger was the peanut butter and bacon. sides for the entrees are just weird and out of place, the 6 top even talked about how it was so weird and how you dont have even have fries on your menu. kid absolutely LOVED the PB&J, first time she would eat the crust.
all in all paid nearly $70 for PB&J and a bag of cheetos. We could have made better food at home and it's one of the only times I left a restaurant and felt robbed of 90+ minutes of my time and nealry $70. I can't find any where else this busnisess exists except here and it's physical location which used to be kings tide and ive had significantly better experiences there. I'd suggest anywhere else in westport when the competition around the courner is 10x the speed, service, and food quality. Aloha Alabama, Bennetts blue buoy just put this place to shame.

New owner, and name - The Slippery Deck.
Waitress made me a special ‘chowder espresso’ coffee. It was perfect for my walk along the marina this morning.
The bakery offerings also look tasty [but didn’t try them].
Stop by and give them a visit; highly recommend.

Delicious comfort food high quality dinner we had complemented by the superior service and friendly staff as we were visiting the area! ??️
There is also great choice of drinks to choose from at the bar let alone an impressive wine list selection by the bottle. ???
Make sure to try their house-made freshly baked pastries like the peach crumble or the cinnamon roll with melted butter on top ?!
Their breakfast menu is served all-day as well.

I don’t know if they were having an off day, but we waited an hour for breakfast that never came. The table next to us stormed out after an hour and a half. I think most of the diners ended up leaving without getting food.

I’m really sad to make this post because it’s been on our list to go to forever and we were really looking forward to it but it was not great. Nor did our food look like the photos others have posted.
First they were a little busy so hope this was an off day. There was one other family waiting and we got seated after a 30 minute wait. We did order relatively quickly so plus. Our waitress seemed to be handling the crowd ok but the other lady working seemed to really be panicking with being behind. I felt bad for her.
After we ordered it was 70 plus minutes before we got our food. I’m not kidding. People in the restaurant were also waiting upwards of 20 minutes to even order with the other waitress. You could tell most tables were angry. Once the food came the potatoes were crispy on the outside sort of but not cooked on the inside. My e was ok. My son got the chicken fried steak and the top looked spongy not crispy. They forgot his fruit but were kind to bring it later…. But it just seemed old and like the watermelon had been sitting out for a while.
Again… I hate posting this and hope it was just an off day. But if you can’t handle the customers, I think you should seat less tables so the kitchen staff can keep up, your waitresses don’t feel like a fire drill, and the food can be as good as I think it probably is on a different day. But this was 2 hours I wish I had spent elsewhere. I’m so sorry. If it’s busy, I wouldn’t attempt going.

We spoke with The King Tide via Facebook and I went in the day before our charter fishing trip. They told me that even though they open at 5, they get there before that and would have our breakfast ready by 5am. Nope!! Our charter boat wasn’t waiting and my 8yr old daughter had to go without breakfast. Thanks guys.

We order meatloaf and mashed potatoes with broccolini. They had regular broccoli which wouldnt have been a big deal except it was cold. The meatloaf was only luke warm. The mashed potatoes were so cold the butter wouldnt even melt. The kids macaroni and cheese was cold. The service was awful.
