Pretty good food and drinks. Talia was an amazing server and made the experience quite exceptional. The vibe inside is nice and cozy as well.

We have come to this brewery every time we come to Winthrop for our hockey tournament. They never disappoint and are always very accommodating. The food is delicious, I always make a point to get the chili. Highly recommend stopping in if you were in town and we will continue doing and so every time we come back for a tournament!

I don’t usually write reviews, but I love eating at restaurants especially for a date night. I usually have an okay/average experience at restaurants, nothing to write home about, or I show my support by continuously being a customer. I’ve been to a lot of restaurants in my life, and this was the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. The blonde waitress that works here is extremely rude, unfriendly and unpleasant. My partner and I were both appalled by her attitude towards us. We looked at each other and said, what is her problem? It was so uncomfortable and odd. Ive never experienced this at a restaurant before. I’ve never been a waitress, but it shouldn’t be that hard to show appreciation and say thank you, have a good night. All we got was a “mmhmm” and zero eye contact. Just the bare minimum of being friendly to guests goes a long way, and we didn’t even get the bare minimum treatment. I ordered the fish and chips and it was not good. Even if the food was decent, I’d never eat here again because of the awful service. We’re from out of town and this is my first time visiting Winthrop. After this unpleasant experience at this restaurant I have a bad taste in my mouth from this town in general.

This place is busy! They handle the crowd well though, and the servers are great. The burgers and wings we had were tasty. My only complaint is that the beer list is very, very IPA-heavy. They did have a good sour though!

I am a local of the area and have been coming here a long time. This by far was the worst visit simply because of the CLUELESS waitress! I am a talker and have been in the industry, some customers are great and talking to them is fun BUT when you have 2 new tables walk in at the exact same time and you are the ONLY waitress out there and it's packed, you better be on top of it! I waited over 10 minutes to even be acknowledged by her and I know she saw me, yet she was too busy chatting with a table that was done eating and just needed to pay their bill but yet she KEPT talking! Now it's been 15 minutes and I have been on the road and was tired and hungry and still had more driving to do! I finally had to get up and go interrupt their conversation to be able to put my order in! She was RUDE the rest of the time! My food came quickly which was nice, but quicker than a glass of beer! The river flowing was SO peaceful yet all I could her was her chatting with all the tables which seemed to be more important then her JOB! The table behind me had clearly been overserved and were talking extremely loud and the subject manner was very rude for a busy restaurant! I drank my first beer quickly and my empty glass was just sitting there, forever because again she was too busy talking! I ended up grabbing the rest of my dinner and heading inside were I did not want to be (I come for the outdoor patio and ambience) there was a game on and it was loud and packed, I sat in the corner staring at a wall to finish! As soon as I got inside NATHAN was on top of things! Instantly came over, talked to me nicely for a minute, got me my 2nd beer immediately and my tab and was a GREAT server, that's how you do it, and I appreciated him! Waitress with braids you could learn a thing or 2 from him!

The food here was rlly good! I got the tri trip sandwich which was delicious and my friend got the fish and chips and said the fish was great! Only caveat is our service was pretty terrible. To be fair it did seem like she was the only server, so i know she had a lot going on. But she was very short with us and never checked up on us while checking in with other tables around us. Nonetheless the food and beer were great!

Nice large back patio overlooking river. Great selection of strong beers at very reasonable prices. My Bison burger did not have any flavor.

Tri tip sandwich was great. Paying extra for the garlic fries was not worth it for me but overall really good.

Great beer and vibe, but understaffed. Yall need at least 2 bartenders on a Friday night with live music!

Great atmosphere and delicious beer all while sitting on the huge creekside outdoor patio. My waiter was less than cordial and never asked how my meal was or if I needed another drink. I always had to ask for another beer or condiments. He didn't seem like he was very happy to be there. I was really excited to try the Fish and Chips, however when it arrived, the fish was over battered and overcooked. I ended up scraping the batter off and eat just the fish. I would not recommend this entree.

I had a great experience here. Super cool family friendly vibe and outdoor seating by the river. Had a great kombucha with my hot chicken sandwich. Friendly fast service. Nice chill evening vibes. I knocked a star off of the food rating because the bun my burger came on felt slightly cheap or like it wasn’t fresh. Almost slightly spongey.

The food at Old Schoolhouse Brewery was amazing, and the guava cider was delicious! Unfortunately, the service wasn’t the best. I had ordered the pub fries with steak, but the wrong fries came out. When I told the server, he insisted that’s what I ordered, didn’t try to resolve it, and came across grumpy.

I went back inside with him and spoke to the cashier/bartender, who was very kind and helpful. He let me reorder the correct fries, but I still had to pay for the first fries, which didn’t feel fair since it was a misunderstanding. My boyfriend also placed an order, and we closed out the tab.

Overall, the food and drinks were truly great, but the first server’s attitude and being charged for the wrong fries really brought the experience down.

Do Not miss the garlic-herb fries. Heavenly! The patio in the back is where to go. Adirondack chairs or barstools facing the river, or nice tables with a great view. Service was prompt and attentive throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed the tri-tip sandwich, the ciabatta breast was toasted to perfection with a yummy Ailoi and arugula. I would easily order again. I’m so glad we choose this restaurant when visiting Winthrop.
