Really enjoyed the Tri Tip steak sandwich was AMAZING— incredibly flavorful and the steak was very tender! Would probably try the fries next instead of the Caesar salad… Amber beer was delicious!

They have a nice covered river patio- raining and cold the day I was there but will go back and enjoy when the weather warms up! Friendly staff!!

Highly disappointed by food. Burnt bread and cold fries. I’m sure outside seating in the summer is a plus however I would skip this place if you want more than a beer. Many better options in town.

This is a tasty brewery and restaurant with a nice deck out back overlooking the river. They have a decent selection of menu items that are a little pricey from my personal experience, BUT the prices did seem to be the norm for the area. Either way, it was worth it. Delicious food and beer, as well as a unique, cozy atmosphere.

"Old Schoolhouse Brewery has great beer—lots of variety and quality brews that are worth trying. The food was just okay, nothing special. Unfortunately, the service was a letdown. Our waitress seemed uninterested and looked like she didn’t want to be there, which really affected the overall experience. It’s a shame because the atmosphere and drinks are good, but the service needs improvement."

Okay so the food and beer was GREAT as well as the scenic seating out back next to the river and fire pit but this place only gets 3 stars from me because the service was SLOW. We were there in the off season (so not that busy) and it took a while to get our beer and over an hour to get our food with no one coming to check if we wanted another beer or to see how our food was. We had to basically hold down the girl who dropped off our food to order another and then were ignored the rest of the night.
We would’ve for sure bought more beer … we talked to other guests who had similar experiences.
We had to go upstairs and flag down a bartender to pay because the two staff downstairs ignored us?
Because the beer was good and the food was awesome I would go back ooonnee more time.
Also - not dog friendly.

On a Sunday night in September there are few choices in town but this brewery is recommended. Beer was excellent, food was good, steelhead sandwich excellent but the service was bad. Our waitress was disinterested in us, was unfriendly, cold and did the minimum mechanical job possible. The same service was given to pretty much everyone except the three younger men for whom she raised a smile. Not the experience you expect or want when out for dinner and $75

Fun outdoor space. Terrible service. We waited an hour for food. We asked about our food after about 40 minutes and were told it comes when it comes. This was unfortunate as we had a great experience at other restaurants in Winthrop. We were one of only four tables so it was not a busy day. I would not recommend.

I had the reuben and my husband had the philly cheese and both were delicious. They also have a great selection of beers. Glad we found it.

Beer and pretzel was awesome. Great sauce to go with it! Blond was my favorite but awesome selection of light dark and ipa beers.

Paid $20 for a skimpy patty on an over sauced burger. Still hungry after dinner and not satisfied at all. My server was super short with me and made me feel like I was an inconvenience. Cool spot by the river, but I’d recommend somewhere else or to make your own meal. This place used to be great, but seems like it’s changed for the worse.

Overworked waitress, bordering on rude. Overcooked burger patty and tough steak cubes (I was expecting steak slivers) on the Philly cheese steak sandwich. Overpriced as well. But the worst thing? They gave the wrong food to a guy at the neighboring table, he started to eat and then complained... they took his plate away and gave it directly to the right recipient. Gross and highly unprofessional.

I was really looking forward to grabbing a quick bite at this place. After driving for 7 hours and walking around Winthrop, I was exhausted and starving. I showed up around 5:30 p.m., and the restaurant was pretty quiet - just a handful of people inside. The staff seemed friendly and the atmosphere was nice, so I was hopeful for a good experience.

I placed my order at 5:40 PM - just a simple cheeseburger and fries. Nothing complicated, you know? But time kept ticking by. At 6:00 PM, the server told me my food would be up soon. Twenty more minutes passed, and they said I was next in line.

By this point, I was beyond frustrated. I mean, come on - 40 minutes for a burger? That's ridiculous! I was dining alone, so it's not like I had some huge, complicated order. To make matters worse, they started seating people on the patio at 6:00 PM, and those folks were getting their food before me.

I finally had enough and told the server I wasn't going to wait any longer. I still had another 5 hours of driving ahead of me, and I couldn't afford to waste any more time. The whole experience left such a bad taste in my mouth. I hate to say it, but I definitely won't be coming back here again. It's a shame because the place had potential, but they really dropped the ball on basic service.
