They make the best cup of coffee. They all know me by name there. I've gone there for over 25 years in the service is great and the people are always friendly! The owner used to work there as a barista years ago and she ended up buying the place she's a fabulous person and I'm glad I know her she runs great business!

I live in the neighborhood and we used to go here a lot. While there are 2 baristas there that are amazing and super friendly the others are not and have actually been rude. A lot has gone downhill over the last year. The last time I went there, their prices are higher than Starbucks and Dutch Brothers and on top of that, they made my drink completely wrong and having not left the window, I was told that they don’t do remakes. Sorry, but if I’m going to be charged $8 for a $6 drink anywhere else, I expect them to stand behind their product. Plus, more and more often they open late and close early without notice. While I don’t care too much for the drinks or prices at Mocha Tree one block away, I’d rather go there and at least get consistent excellent service and know they stand behind their drinks. Not sure what’s going on with Cottage Espresso & management there, but I will not go there again.Parking: The entrance and exit allow for 2 small cars at a time and then cars end up in the street blocking traffic. Not sure they can fix that now, but definitely something they should have thought through in the beginning.

I’ve always used to order regularly here because I enjoyed the red bulls and other treats, but recently within the past few months a lot of the service has gone down hill. Today I ordered a double redbull with mango flavoring and when I received it, it was a totally different flavor and color! Honestly I was so disappointed, because I used to love this place because of the prices and the great drinks, but now I will not be ordering from here anymore.

This business has has totally changed from what it use to be. I was a regular and stopped going when rude workers turned into the norm. It had been a couple years and then I started slowing going back since it's on my way to work. Not hard to notice that when I did stopped in that I got charged a different price every time for the exact same drink. Despite that I continued to stop in when I noticed no cars or one car in line. I stopped in today for the last time. I asked the gal for a chai latte. I noticed her mixing it and asked if they only had powder and not the liquid chai. She said only the powder. So I was like fine paid $6 and left. I should have tasted it before I left. My chai latte had coffee in it. I called to ask her about how she made it and she was full of attitude so I asked when someone else would be in that I can speak with and she told me to call back the next day. She continues to tell me that's how the drink is made. So I respond with I just stopped on Yakima Ave yesterday ordered a chai latte and got Oregon Chai with milk (chai latte) for $3.50. She said I need to be more specific when I order and I can call tomorrow and talk to the manager and I can talk to the owner and they will all tell me the same thing. So if I order there again she wants me to order a Chai Tea Latte with no coffee shots? She works at a coffee stand "chai" is the Hindi work for "tea". So she wants me to order a tea tea latte? After repeating herself over and over apparently trying to educate me on chai latte I had enough of her brazen attitude and told her I'd just get my chai latte somewhere else from now on. She said fine. It's too bad that a locally owned business has this many negative reviews. Most mention rude workers, refusing to remake drinks, I get price increases, but this business is completely different from from what it use to be when the previous owner had it and far from when the current owner first started. I will not be returning.
I've gone to a LOT of different espresso stands across the state of Washington and have multiple baristas in my family. But I have never been to a business like Cottage Espresso. I live down the street and over the last few months, something has gone haywire there. First, their prices are absolutely outrageous and way more expensive than even Starbucks, by dollars; not cents. They constantly close early, open late, and several times they haven't opened at all with no notice to their customers; and we're not talking about holidays. None of their drinks are consistent because they don't measure anything and each barista makes their own version or how they like each drink. If you don't like how it's made, too bad. They will not stand behind their products and no matter how off the mark a drink is, they will NOT remake it correctly, so you're just out the $8-$10. They also nickel & dime you to death. 30 cents for whip cream, charging for anything they can, on top of the ridiculous price they already charge. As far as the baristas go, they used to be super friendly and took the time to learn regular customers drinks and/or names. With the exception of one barista, none of them really seem to care and the last time I was there, I was treated as if I (a paying customer) was a complete nuisance to the barista working, as I was apparently interrupting both her being on her phone and putting things away. She was rude, didn't even greet me, and without realizing that she left the window partially open, started talking bad about customers to whoever she was on the phone with. And she's the manager! I'll never go there again! I'm perfectly content taking my business just about anywhere else that actually cares about what they're doing, puts the customers first, and stands behind their products in an orderly and consistent way. They need to learn that if you order a drink from their stand, it should taste the same no matter who makes it. It's called measuring, basic recipes, and training!

I love one girl here named Becca, however most of the girls can't make drinks right, they don't measure things out, there drinks are outrageously priced, I get a mango Red Bull and it's 6.25 for just a mango Red Bull. I had a girl who doesn't measure at all just start pouring the mango to the point I had to ask her to dump a little out, and today had to tell her to put the mango only to the second line on the cup. And when I go there for them to fix a drink they won't accept remakes. Personally I think it's messed up. What happened to the customer is always right? If you mess up on a drink it's YOUR responsibility to make it right.

Used to come everyday when it was on my way to work and loved it, so I look forward to stopping by when I'm in town. I was a bit disappointed when I got a 20oz w/LIGHT ice and the cup is completely full of ice. 20oz iced latte for over $5 and you only get maybe 8oz of actual liquid.... inflation is next level ridiculous. The girls were sweet and timely but paying $7 with a tip for 8oz of coffee is a bit much in my opinion.
