“Just moved to the area from the Olympia area and we are still gaining our bearings on what to eat in our new city. Gyro House is officially top of the list. I’m not going to lie, I was apprehensive when we walked in because the space leaves little to be desired. It’s a pretty stark space with little to look at and it felt a little cold. BUT THE FOOD IS WHAT COUNTS and the food is PHENOMENAL. And just when you think that the food is the shining star, you get helped by some of the kindest people on this planet. Homie at the counter was more than happy to make substitutions and held a really nice conversation with us that really made my husband and I feel valued. 11/10 food and service, 4/10 atmosphere. Will def be back for more!”

“I spent a year in Korea immensely enjoying the foods.I've been to many Korean restaurants in the Puget Sound.Joy Garden has leveled up their game to compete with the best distant competition! It was just okay years ago when they opened. But after 3 recent visits I can declare I'm proud and jazzed to have them here!Quantities are plentiful. Plating is great. The dishware is aesthetically pleasing. And the genuine dishes very tasty. The prepared galbi is AMAZING.The Tteokbokki is awesomely tasty and authentic!Soondubu (tofu soup) is next on my list.Prices are a bit higher than usual fare, and I'm thrifty, but this is worth the experience for a date or hosting out of towers, special occasions, etc.If you've not tried Korean, try Joy Garden. “I really like this place a lot. It is my go-to spot for snacks/boba tea. The only thing I have to say is that most of the weekends you end up going, they're completely out of the brown sugar boba. Other than that, it's a great spot.”

“A quick stop, but definitely worth is. One of the best hot dogs (in my case, currywurst), I've ever had, and very friendly staff. Definitely worth a stop or five....”

“Have you ever felt a little off? Do you like video games? Are you a part of the LGBTQIA2S+ Alphabet Soup Family or care about someone who is? Are you just kind and want to be surrounded by people who would rather build you up than tear you down?Well, this is the place and community for you.Game and Grog is a unique fixture in Yakima's bar/nightlife. You can play video games from different decades (including the latest games), board games, do karaoke, or just hang out with the most varied and storied people you'll meet in town. It's a place for happiness and acceptance, and arguably the single most wholesome place in Yakima.”

“Rarely do I give 5 stars across the board but in this case it's necessary. In a city with many Mexican restaurant options this is our favorite. Everything is always fresh and made on the spot. Even their chips and salsa (6 or 7 different varieties) come fresh. I ate more than I should've and am happy I did. If you're in Yakima, this is a place you must try.I am in no way affiliated with this establishment nor compensated formy review.”

“We stayed in Yakima for two nights, and came to Main Stop on the Ave two days in a row, one for breakfast & one for lunch. The place is SO cute - Situated in repurposed train station and decorated with a happy, homey feel.Everyone who worked there was sooo, so nice and our waiters were very attentive, and they were BUSY!As for the food... it was really good, depending on what you order. I had steak and eggs with loaded sweet potato hash one day and a grilled chicken Caprese sandwich the next, and both were SO delicious. Very fresh. Tastes homemade. Large portions - I was SO happy! My dad had a machaca breakfast burrito one day, and a grilled chicken salad the next, and both of those were pretty lame, to be honest... The meat (machaca) in the breakfast burrito was very good, but there was hardly any of it, it was mostly filled with dry potatoes, overall, it was very dry, and not worth the value. The grilled chicken salad was also pretty sad, it was just cut up iceberg lettuce with some shredded she is and small cubes of grilled chicken, for over $13. It was definitely not worth the money, it was what you would imagine a diner, side salad to be, and did not have enough chicken for the price.Overall, still very happy with the experience, and it was a great spot, but just be careful what you order! Some things are far and beyond better than others!”

“First time at WaterFire, but won't be the last. We had a party of 4 and all of us loved our dinners and appetizers. We had the chicken sandwich, ahi salad and seafood enchiladas for dinner and cauliflower and shrimp appetizers, all delicious! Our waitress was very attentive and we really enjoyed the evening.”

“Had my dads 80th birthday here and they had a separate room for us away from the rest of the crowd. Needed more than one waiter because of the big group we had but for the most part it was ok, the food was ok for the price but could of been better, everyone’s dish was a hit and miss meaning some where better than the other we all got to try one another’s so next time we will k ow what not to order.”

“Lovely venue. Terrific staff. John was especially thoughtful. The park spot on the grass was very pleasant, however, the million watt search light over the parking area was disappointing. It flooded our windows and sleep was poor...and there was no star gazing. The wines were excellent!Vines to the south and orchards to the north surrounded us.”

“Over priced! But after I sent my meal back once, the second time it came back correct. The server was just so wonderful. It would of been nice if my husband and I could of ate our meal at same time. By the time my came, he was almost finished. It was 5 pm, we were the only customers so no excuse for too busy and prime rib to be almost raw, broccoli cold to touch and a backed potato so cold the butter wouldn't melt, yet the potato was severely over cooked . We will try again next year.”

“Crispy and lightly umami, the sourdough turkey panini with provolone hit the spot!I'm grateful for the airy, yet solid atmosphere with multiple nooks and open seating areas. Humble and kind staff, plus a safe location to let down make this a repeat local coffee shop in my book.A great place to read, journal, chat, or pray!”

“We went back again (‘cause who can stay away?) and this time brought along her children (11 & 8). They had a great time, the server absolutely catered to their every need, and they thoroughly enjoyed their Cheese pizza and Everything pizza. Truth be told: I enjoyed their leftovers the next day.As is tradition this place rocked from start to finish. From the brief phone call to set up a reservation, to the prompt , friendly greeting at the front door, to the enthusiastic and knowledgeable server: this place consistently knocks it out of the park.Try the Burrata Bowl with its exciting textures and mindblowing marinade. The ahi with fresh mango was even better than expected. Even the “fries” (you know: the traditionally yawn inducing, overplayed and pedantic British contribution to ‘merican “cuisine”) are done with a cut and flair that left us scrambling for the last bits at the bottom of the bowl. Wow!!(Slow clap ensues)Thanks, Provisions. We are grateful to have something so consistently superlative in such close proximity.”

“Loved this place! The restaurant was very nicely decorated and clean. The service was excellent. Pretty sure they were family. The food was delicious and served timely. Lots of choices on the menu. Lamb Khorma was great! Loved the Bollywood on the TV playing near the bar. All in all a great experience. I highly recommend it. We were just passing thru Yakima or I would be a frequent customer.”

“(Translated by Google) The food here is really very good. Especially very fresh, the waiting time is sometimes an inconvenience for us, but really here every minute you wait is worth it. The best place to eat Mexican food in the city!!!(Original)De verdad la comida aquí es muy rica. Sobre todo muy fresca, el tiempo de espera a veces nos suele ser un inconveniente, pero de verdad aquí cada minuto que esperas vale la pena. El mejor lugar para comer comida Mexicana en la ciudad!!!”

“As first-timers we were not familiar with this restaurant and it's style. They refer to their service as 'family style', in other words, you share whatever comes up first. Even if you are a couple, plan to share whatever you order. The food is fresh and delicious, sometimes the final preparations are at your table. The menu is extensive and the service excellent and accommodating.”

“This family likes to have their kitchen in obscure places. First it was in the back of a gas station mini-mart. It is now renamed as shown and is located in the back of Valley Brewing, as noted. They don't have their own entrance so after winding your way through the crowd in the brewery and past the garage door you'll see a table with a tablet for your order. Once you yell toward the back, hopefully someone will appear. And that's just the beginning. The food is still fresh and tasty and authentic. There are many tables on the covered patio they share with the brewery, which is a nice addition to to-go orders only. Hope you find it because it's worth it. Use GPS because it's actually north of Fruitvale.”

“Despite not having a trained DJ the bartenders are super chill. Once they get a DJ that transitions songs better this place will be even better. Also it's one of the few places I haven't seen any drama break out. That's nice to.”

“We went through the drive through, ae placed the order well. The speaker was on the fritz. The food was good as always. I recommend indoor dinning if you have time. You place your order at the counter, then seat yourself. They bring you your food. The nice thing about indoor, is that there is condiments available just incase you need more of something. All In all it's a nice family atmosphere.”

“Food was best I have had while eating out. Tonni our waiter for the evening was extremely polite and informative. Only thing I disliked about eating there is the lack of TV but that is a bit of a zoomed take ?. I would recommend the Chocolate brownie lasagna best desert I have ever had ”

“We have (consistently!) had THE BEST Pad Thai here...both for take out and dine in....and each time, it is so fresh, flavorful and absolutely delicious!! One of our favorite places!!”

“WOW! Wow! Wow!!!!! Thank you Phil Cline for an amazing experience and some of the most delicious wines we ever had. The tour was very educative and the owner is a third generation of farmer. Phil is extremely knowledgeable and a good story teller. The tasting was amazing. I strongly recommend a tour snd wine tasting tour here.”
“We had two meals here, both dinner and breakfast. Our dinner was very good. Breakfast not so much. Mine was good, I had a veggie omelet. The waffles were just ok and the hashbrowns were not good at all.Vegetarian options: Would be nice to have more variety.Parking: It was nice to have secure parking.”

“Only one person on the counter and though no other patrons, I had to wait for service. There was a special that if I donated a dollar toward hunger relief, I could get free curly fries. They were overcooked, hard, and not able to eat them, so I threw them away. The two tacos were ok. They tasted good but very thin filling, but at 2 for $1.99, I didn't expect a gourmet meal.Parking: Lots of space.”

Takeout Restaurants
“We both got Texas burgers, they were good, just a small patty. Good amount of veggies on burgers. One burger we got had bacon, there was a lot of bacon, and it was very good bacon! We had one order of homestyle fries(delicious) and one order of the tater rounds (also delicious) . We will he back, but next time, we will get double burgers!Parking: Not ton of extra parking but about the right amount for a business of this size.Wheelchair accessibility: Everything is ground level. No step or hills or train tracks or anything of that nature. It's just flat and easy.”

“Who doesn’t love a downtown coffee shop tucked into a historic church. A nice break away from ordinary. Friendly and knowledgeable baristas featuring local artisan coffees hand selected for the day. Will be back. Keep up the great work and even better coffee.”

“I came in for lunch with 3 kids. I ordered a blt with onion rings, kids had mac and cheese, fries and mini corn dogs. The food was great. Small local restaurant, glad we picked this place over Dennys, or Shari's. The service was excellent. My only concern was the filthy walls”

“Dog friendly, which is nice. Kid friendly, which is even better. The staff have always been friendly, knowledgeable, and great with the kids. The outside seating is amazing, ranging from covered patios, umbrellaed tables, and even "garage seating" semi-enclosed areas. Outside and inside bars allow for getting drinks without having to haul dogs or kids inside, if they're playing. Grassy areas are beloved by kids for games and preserving parent sanity. The food is great, with the regular pizzas being solid choices if the specials don't sound interesting. The charcuterie board option is actually one of the best spreads for the price I've seen any restaurant have. Nothing is phoned in here, from service to food quality to drink selection. Guaranteed a great experience.Kid-friendliness: The staff always engage with our kids really well. They have amazing amounts of patience for normal (and not so normal) kid questions and stories. They go out of their way to ensure any food we order for the kids are heaped with stuff they'd like (when we order pepperoni pizzas for them, they load up the cheese and pepperoni--no skimping at all!)”

“The huckleberry scones are delicious! The berries adding both sweetness and moisture to the buttery scones. First time having huckleberries in a baked good and I'm now a fan. Ahtanum Bakery is adjacent to their berry patch in Yakima. Because of the climate, they harvest strawberries, blueberries, huckleberries and Marion berries right through the fall. They have a a u-pick field or you can buy the berries already picked. Every year they participate in the Hood River Valley Harvest festival in October. People remember them and line up for the massive cinnamon rolls, hand pies, scones, pies, decorated sugar cookies and other delectables. Oh, and fresh berries!Prices are a bit high, but the quality is definitely there. These are not mass produced, but made in small batches with fresh ingredients and love.”

“Moved here from Colorado about 1.5 years ago...CO has some of the best Hazy IPAs on the planet, the scene is huge and quite a few breweries there win prestigious awards. I've tried alot of breweries since coming to WA, and Wandering Hop's Hazy's are right up there with CO, best I've found in all of WA State. Cool people and great vibe also.Try it for Hazy's, you can't go wrong with these guys!”

“Just for the heck of it I checked to see what the best pizza was online and it popped up with Mr. Pizza, so....I ordered and it was fabulous. First time I even knew it was there, I got the garlic bacon pizza but there were plenty of others to chose from, go there, you will love it!”

“We loved everything with my wife. We are truck driver and ordered online far from 22 miles. First of all packaging was super cool, utensils were durable. We tried many things like Gyro wrap, chicken shawarma wrap, beef and shrimp souvlaki, lentil soup, greek salad, french fries, pistachious baklava, all of them were excellent. It was a tasteful, fresh and hot. Just want to say thank you for offering that kind great “halal” foods for us.Edit: I forget to refer grilled tomatoes. Just order it then come back here and like this button you won’t be regret!”

“Have to say one of the coolest looking places I’ve been to in Yakima. Amazing and creative pastries. The cakes are so beautiful looking and unique. I had a cupcake from there one day and it’s nothing like you have tired I highly recommend stopping by this place and check it out. They are so friendly and the place is so relaxed feel. It’s an awesome place to meet a friend for coffee and a quick snack and even a great place to book for a wedding cake, birthdays and such.”

“I've been here a couple times and it's always decent. It's a lot of the same food that's everywhere else, just done better. I did have their corned beef hash this morning and it was good. If I've had better corned beef hash somewhere I don't remember it. The all meat scramble thing was good too so I was told.”

“Good vibes. Chill atmosphere. Has outside area in the back, covered. Option of bonfire like high tables. Option to eat, Mexican food at the back part of the brewery. Good hours are from open to 8pm during the week, and until 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays. There are TVs inside and outside in case you want to watch any sports games. Would come again. Used to come during COVID times, and site improved since then. There are 3 separate parking spots which appear awkward, considering location. But not too far from the entrance.”

“Long time iconic Yakima drive through with a well-deserved cult following. When I'm craving a burger and a side of fries, this has been my go to. Yeah the service is quick and all the workers are exceptionally friendly. One thing I've always been impressed about is how clean their kitchen looks from the outside. In addition to burgers, they offer other main dishes such as fish and chips. Their milkshakes and ice cream cones are killer and making us an awesome spot to stop on a hot Yakima summer day.”

“This place makes you feel at home. The drinks are at that good standard. Don't have to ask for good service, you get it period. We were visiting from Oregon, we didn't miss it at all with frank!!!!”

“The pizza always tastes as you would expect. The service at Summitview needs some improvement. There is often only 2 employees ( unless someone is in the back), and that can mean long wait times for simple pizzas. The atmosphere is usually very somber. All that being said, the employees do seem like they are trying hard.”

“These gals know what they're doing. After working as a barista myself for many years, I have become very picky with my coffee. These girls are fast and make the drinks just as asked for and the prices are pretty on point.”

“If you're a heavy eater, then go here to get food. Everything is huge! Their baked potatoes, beer batter dipped fries, salads, and fried zucchini are to die for.”

“I went during lunch in the drive through to get something quick and I did not expect it to be as good as it was. I got 3 chicken tacos and they did not disappoint! “Grew up in Yakima as a kid in the 50's. Our family were fans of your big delicious hamburgers for 25 cents each! Then the price went up in the 60's to 50 cents each. Well, I just had to stop for a hamburger with my siblings sometime in 1983, I think and the same favorite hamburgers were a $1.50 each. What a treat to see the building be the same place when we were kids! On the day we were there, you were just finishing a new paint job on the building. Thank you for the memories.”

“Let me set the scene for you. After deciding to throw my hat into a mosh pit full of people half my age Monday night I was slated to start a new job the next day. Needless to say I woke up hating the world and feeling like so much recycled kaka. The morning seemed pretty much damned to go down as a doozy of a bad day until I get a surprise visit from my parental unit who hands me a small, brown paper bag as a gift to celebrate the new position. Inside is one of the cheese zombies from Viera's. 2 minutes later I'm lost in clouds of fluffy bread containing a river of molten cheese. Instantly the sun peeks out from behind the dark and birds start chirping. The universe is as it should be once again. Do not underestimate the healing powers of baked goods from Viera's.”

“We were wine tasting in Yakima Valley & was informed of this place. We checked it out first thing on Saturday Morning (they aren’t open on Sundays). Had a little trouble finding but gave a call and was able to get confirmation that it was behind the Chase Bank on the corner across from Olive Garden. Walking in, they had a nice seating area (even for a larger group that appeared to be a commonplace). The display cases were filled of my options & coffee options aplenty. I didn’t see much chocolate options but that was okay with me. The lemon poppyseed cheesecake was an excellent choice - prefect consistency of the cheesecake & enough lemon to satisfy me. We chose a bunch of things to take back to our group. I would HIGHLY recommend you stop if you are in the area and it’s open. You won’t be disappointed (but if you are - Atleast you tried something new)”

“The Lincoln Ave location is closed, they have moved and merged with Erik's Son of Mercedes location. I just ate there (1 Nov 2022) and it was Great!!! You have to go to North Front St. kitty corner across the street from "Main Stop on the Ave" restaurant. I also talked with the three other people eating there and they also agreed this is the gem to eat at. I had the steak supreme and it was truly a supreme meal!! Ask to have avocado added, they have avos but are not listed on the menu.”

“Good service, food was good, though it took a long time to get our food. While the food was good, in my opinion, there was nothing special about the menu. What I mean by that is that I saw no signature dishes on the menu, and it was basically the same offerings that I see at many other restaurants. It would be nice to see something that you could only get at Purr. A signature dish or two or three. It was also very loud in there, maybe some plants or different seating arrangements to break up the noise? Something to consider.Parking: I had to park a block away on a side street in an area that I did not feel safe walking back to my car alone. Parking in that area in downtown during busy times of day can be hard to find and feels like some areas aren't safe to walk back to your car aline.”

“I absolutely love the Naches crew! Lainey and her mom always make me feel like family and my pup (and kitty) love the extra attention! Drinks are great, breakfast burritos hit the spot, and the sugar cookies make bad days better. Plus. THEY HAVE GOOD PEBBLE ICE!

“Hands down one of my favorite places to eat in Yakima. One thing I have learned about Yakima since moving here is the call for supporting local businesses. So go support one of the most delicious and local restaurants in town.”

“I was blown away by how good everything was. Meat was so tender and full of smoky flavor. Mac and collards were delicious. Definitely gonna make sure I visit again if I’m ever in Yakima to try more items on their menu.”

“We’ve been planning this trip out from the west side for a couple months and now we are sad we didn’t come sooner. The staff was super great. Recommendations based on our preferences were ON Point. Loved the atmosphere and the beers were perfect 10”

“The best food in town. I tell everyone about this place. My family and I always choose Ariel's when we choose our favorite place to eat. Everything is Amazing. My go to is 4 pork tacos and a torta with extra guacamole. I think im going to go there tomorrow.”

“It is a very small place. The people are so kind. The portions are HUGE! Everything was delicious. It was so busy which tells you something just seeing the traffic coming in. I will be back for sure...”

“One of the better Mexican style restaurants I have had the pleasure to eat at in Yakima. I had the Mole Burrito. It was quite good and the Mole sauce was some of the best that I have ever had. My only critique of the restaurant was that once we had our food, our server kind of disappeared.”

“This was our first visit and won’t be the last. Food was excellent and the service was great. I had the Adobo Pork porterhouse. Fantastic. My wife had the Vietnamese Chicken bowl and was delighted. I can’t wait to go back and try everything else… the french fries looked amazing.”

“I got the seasonal pizza, meatball with a pesto base AND a red sauce drizzle with sausage. It was 10/10!! Had the peach jalapeno beer and it was amazing! You can't go wrong here!”
“The name of this establishment says it all! I'm always satisfied with my purchases. Tasty and satisfying. The delivery guy is always so kind and gives free smiles. Much needed and appreciated.”

“The best burritos! My husband is Latino and of course picky, wanting flavor (who doesn't) with a good kick of spice. I got vegetarian burrito and he got the chicken one. Generous size, incredible flavor, great service! Prices, down to earth (reasonable!! Hard to find). We'd go back if we lived here, and will go back next time we come through!!!”
“Always clean, the best service provided by all employees, reasonable prices, the music is always relaxing and encouraging. The freshest salad!! My favorite ❤️”

“Best BBQ West of the Mississippi. Your get fantastic meat that's complemented rather smothered.Sirloin was also extremely flavorful and needed nothing.New favorite place in Yakima for dinner and favorite place in the PNWU for BBQ”

“We stopped by for wine tasting on a Saturday afternoon and their selection is pretty impressive. We enjoyed the selection and even bought a bottle to take home. There was live music and you could also sit outside and enjoy the cool valley breeze.”

“Best sandwich I’ve had in a minute, and the pizza was absolutely unreal! New favorite. Apparently you’re not allowed to use less than 100 characters for these reviews? So this part is that….??♂️?”
