we had dinner and a few drinks at the bar and the bartending staff were amazing on Saturday April 19th. The bartender we talked with and served us said she had only been working there 6 months but was fast, knowledgeable and very nice. She deserves accolades for a job well done. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who finds themselves in yakima who appreciates great food, amazing atmosphere and an excellent time.

Going down. What once was an anticipated experience is gone.

The new menu is bland. Food was below average in quality and flavor

I nearly always got the prawn avocado salad. I lived through the change of full prawns being diced and tortilla chips going to shreds.

Now the shrimp are poached not grilled. No corn or jicama now. Throughly disappointed.
Looks like it’s on a plate now instead of the bowl from another review I saw.

My other go to was the Harvester burger. Now there is some thing that looks like a 3.99 smash burger with no lettuce, tomato or onion. Doesn’t even say what it’s made of. Some kind of beef mix I guess

I got the banh mi sandwich. Good. Not great. Lukewarm to room temp fries.

My girlfriend got the mushroom toast. Not sure what it really was. Looked like puke on a piece of some kind of bread. The menu says “melody” mushrooms. It was ok. We called back to ask what we got after trying to figure out what kind of mushrooms
and they admitted they were out of their regular mix so used cauliflower mushrooms today. Maybe explain that when we order. So who knows what you might get for 17.00.

Probably done with Cowiche. Sad because the server we have had over the last couple years has been fantastic.

Good luck.

This is the most over rated restaurant! You wait 40 minutes for a table and 1 hour for food. Oh! And reservations are not allowed for parties under five people! You don't even get the chance to request appetizers, or "Firsts" as the menu calls them. The main courses are questionable. It's like a 5 year old threw a bunch of random foods together and said "Whala!". Hard pass on this place! You're money is better spent at McDonalds!

So disappointed in the new menu! They dropped our favorites and have very few offerings now. They changed what they kept i.e. Prime Rib Dip is now on a baguette instead of a soft roll. After many great meals there, we'll try the competitors.

Not good. Ordered the rib eye steak (the most expensive item on the menu), and I got a not very appetizing steak with a luke warm potato - thats it! No veggies, salad, nothing else! The steak was not tender and I didn't like the potato very much.
The service was just ok, and the ambiance was terrible with all the noise

The new Prawn and Avacado salad absolutely sucks….why change the best item on your menu just for the sake of change….there are many items on the old menu that were very good….I don’t understand why everything had to be reworked….we were dining at Cowiche at least twice a month….with the new menu we have to find another place to dine…Truely unfortunate

I'm a big fan of this place. This year alone, I've eaten there over twenty times. First of all, the service is spot on. Great staff all around and a phenomenal atmosphere.

The new menu is not so good. The first picture is the from the old menu of a simple, but delicious baked potato. The second picture is a baked potato off of the new menu. Old baked potato was I believe $8 . New half sized baked potato with a topping is $7. Half the size for almost twice the price.

The side salad is very good along with the prime rib dip. The burger, well the menu doesn't even list what the patty is made from. And it was not near as good as the old ones.
About the pasta dish. The cast iron pan is a prop. Not only is it not baked in the pan, the pan itself isn't even hot. And for $18 it needs to be presented better because it is quite tasty.
Overall the place is still a great venue to have in Yakima, but it could be so much better.

I am vegan and can eat the thai noodle bowl. I tried it once before the big overhaul and it was delicious and fresh and they had tofu to add. I went yesterday and got the same dish and it was flavorless and wet and the ingredients were definitely old. They also only had meat add-ons. My friend got an $18 burger and it came out looking like something you could get at a local drive thru for way less money.
This used to be somewhere nice to take visitors but they have really made a mistake with these changes. Unless they fix things I will likely not go back nor recommend to anyone.

I used to come here genuinely every weekend to get the steak salad and now it’s different and not in a good way!!! $26 is crazy, it was so small Chimmichurri isn’t as good and arugula isn’t the way to go. I’m glad the fries are at least the same! Our friend got the vodka pasta and said it was delicious. PLEASE bring back the old steak salad and chips and guac app!!! ❤️ going to keep trying to find a new fav but very sad and can’t recommend it to friends. Also

I’m so disappointed in their new menu, the flavor and quality is off and significantly different and not in good way. Used to be my go to for dinner but was severely disappointed. Even the chimichurri was different and could not even be compared. I used to love their steak salad but now its steak with arugula 0/10.

🚨 Warning Local Eaters! MENU HAS CHANGED ENTIRELY. There is 16 entrees, only one burger option and ingredients in some beloved classics are different or not there at all - not the fries at least 🍟

Our experience in regard to service and wait times were great but collectively we are not fans of the new menu.

Reviews of the Prime Rib Dip (type on their menu), Burger 🍔 , Prawn Salad 🥗 , and New Birthday Dessert below:

Prime Rib Dip 10/10 it was good

Guest #2
Burger 4/10 Felt elementary and like a backyard burger and a backyard burger shouldn’t cost $18 for the quality of this restaurant

Guest #3
Burger 5/10
Caramelized onions were good…

Guest #4
Burger 5/10 came for a friend’s bday and EVERYTHING including the birthday dessert had changed :( Got a burger, it felt overpriced for the quality, I like the onions, but not worth it and can’t say I like any other of the new menu options

Guest #5
Prawn Salad (with no prawns) 8/10
Had to find a new salad to try, it’s good, though I was a bit disappointed they took out the beans and corn in the salad

Birthday Dessert
8/10 it was good, it was like crème brûlée but no hard top and added berries

We came for a birthday because Cowiche canyon has always been our favorite restaurant, we would always come for the artichoke, wedge salad, baked potato, the delicious salads etc. well today we came in expecting a great new menu with the old items still on it and some new stuff maybe added. But no, they changed the entire menu. Nothing is the same. The mixed drinks had too much ice. The “pasta” tasted like it was from the freezer section, the “twice baked potato” was 6$ and it was the smallest half a potato I’ve ever seen. The “potato puree” tasted like it was straight from a box and I would recommend KFC potatoes any day over those. Anyways we are super sad, it used to be our favorite Yakima restaurant and they changed the whole experience for the worse. Very disappointed.

This menu change is quite ridiculous. They took everything that was good off the menu. The portion sizes are less than half of what they use to be . My self and my family use to love this place but now I’ll never be back again.
